The restaurant itself is nice and the staff friendly. Food was just average but definitely worth a try.

Very convenient to our hotel. Service was great, food was very good and not too expensive for the quality of the food.

This restaurant has been entirely rebuilt since a fire destroyed it a year or so ago and the new building is charming, bright and sparkling new with lots of windows and a second floor that take advantage of terrific views of the West River and the Retreat Meadows. The service is friendly and very efficient and we received our food very quickly. If only the food were as terrific as the surroundings. Some things I don't expect to change -- the lettuce and tomatoes will always look anemic and taste like nothing -- but a chicken breast sandwich special was really nothing special with the aforementioned vegies, a dry slab of chicken and a slice of melted cheddar. The cheddar was real. A "California" chicken sandwich, I could have sworn there would be something California-like about it (Kaiser roll?), but it eluded me. Served with ripples potato chips, this was no memorable meal. But it wasn't expensive, we had a nice table, the server didn't hurry us and so, overall, we enjoyed ourselves. Go there in the summer and you might not care about the food at all!

Had lunch with a colleague, Brattleboro was roughly equal distant from our homes. Obviously brand new building, spotless inside, warm and comfortable. Lots of window tables overlooking the river, what looked to be a pretty nice bar. Had the turkey club, excellent, my associate had the reuben and agreed it was good as well. I cannot think of a better place to have a business lunch, we took two hours, were not rushed, in fact the service was very good, wifi of course, I will go back when possible.

Place is great. Servers are fast and friendly. I asked for a special dish and the chef came out personally. He said his name is Amos and asked me what i would like and i told him shrimp in a red sauce over pasta. He said no problem and it was devine! A must when in this area.
