“Classy Gracious Home-Like Comfort”
Reviewed 18 June 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Staying here for a few nights lifted our spirits from the moment we arrived. Kerrie and Russ made us feel like welcome friends at the outset, then quietly left us alone to thoroughly enjoy the sweet little oasis they've created, yet were super responsive to any questions or assistance we needed. It's been a few weeks now, but I'm still reflecting on how wonderful it is to feel this respected as a guest, with a space so beautifully and comfortably furnished that you wish you could stay "in" more. All the details given by the previous reviews are accurate, and this was a perfect retreat/base for our Middlebury graduation celebrations with extended family. We wholeheartedly recommend this as one of our top favorite places we've stayed in our years of travel.

Thank you very much Mary Beth and Bob for your thoughtful and complimentary review. As a former Bay Area resident, it was a special treat to host your stay. Once the holiday traffic memory fades, we hope you'll consider returning for more "in" time. We would truly enjoy seeing you both again. Cheers! Russ and Kerrie

“A Gem in Brandon”
Reviewed 15 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

This is not a Little House ..... it is a Little Home. Not just a structure.; The Little House is a home away from home. From the minute you enter, a peacefulness sets in. The calming neutral colors throughout the house, the carefully chosen local art work, the attention to detail, the "extras" like the bottle of wine and fresh pastries .... all added to the exceptional experience we had staying at The Little House. The house is immaculate. The bed was super comfortable. There is wi-fi and a smart TV. The Little House had it all. I didn't want to leave. My husband said there should be a way to erase The Little House from your memory so you don't get depressed when you go home!!!

My husband and I chose The Little House for a four day ski trip to Killington. Prior to the trip, Kerrie, the owner, was very helpful in answering our questions about the property and also about the distance to Killington. She shared a shortcut that Russ takes to get to Killington that takes 5-10 minutes off the trip. The Little House Handbook was a comprehensive guide to everything you needed to know about the house. Other books were carefully prepared with restaurant suggestions/menus and places to sightsee. Unfortunately we didn't have much time to do much sightseeing but we will definitely be back to take advantage of all that Brandon and the surrounding areas offer.

Thank you Kerrie and Russ for making this lovely property available for rental. I've already mentioned it to so many of my friends. Can't wait to return.

“Delightful get away”
Reviewed 8 February 2016 for a stay in December 2015

I stayed at this little house when I drove to Vermont to visit friends for a few days. And what a surprise. It turns out the entire place was just completely renovated. The bedroom, though small, had the feel of a high end hotel with luxury bedding on a most comfortable queen size bed. The en suite bath was decked out in neutral tones with plush towels and a hilarious piece of surprising artwork hung on the ceiling above the toilet alcove. The kitchen, with apple green cupboards had birch tree wall paper, along with new stainless appliances. Warm and bright, the living room had a large, smart television, which I could watch from the bed if I had been so disposed. There's a small deck off the dining area, which must be lovely in the autumn, and a sun porch that received lots of daylight (great for reading and relaxing). For me, the bonus was the quiet--no street noises, yet it was only a 5 minute walk to the downtown where there was a wonderful French restaurant. Another plus was the wifi access.
The hosts were very helpful and friendly. My comfort and enjoyment seemed very important to them and they welcomed any questions I had. The house is lovelier than the photos show, and much more cosmopolitan than you'd expect from a small cottage in rural Vermont. Perfect for me (traveling alone) or for a romantic get away for two.
