My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the Quicksand and Cafe. The rates are unbelievable especially given the service. Whereas most hotels in town charge you more for less, here you get an incredible room, a fabulous breakfast, and much love and attention from the amazing Carla which is worth so much more than what she charges. The breakfast is just outstanding! What's also nice is that, unlike some B&B's, this one has a tub with a shower head. LGB friendly too! I felt very welcomed!

This B&B is located in a quiet safe neighborhood, but close to the center of the historical part of town. We booked the lowest cost room, which was pleasantly decorated, had a comfortable bed, a good quality TV, and a clawfoot bathtub. The gardens in back are beautiful, with ample shade and flowers. Carla, our hostess, put great care into her breakfast creations. We stayed 4 days and each breakfast was a unique treat. We would definitely come back!

Carla is an extremely friendly hostess and the breakfasts were superb. It was a nice experience sitting around the table with the other delightful guests. The bed was comfortable. There are only a couple things of which you should be aware. If you're in the mood for a big TV, those aren't located here. They're quite small and in our room was located quite a distance from the bed. That wasn't a bid deal to us. Also, if you like to shower, the rooms have baths, so plan accordingly.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at this quaint, history-laden B & B. Furnished with some period pieces and a very comfortable bed, our room was attractive and interesting historically.Owner and hostess,Carla, served tasty, artfully presented, and sumptuous breakfasts. She inquired re our personal tastes and at what hour we liked to eat. She answered all our many questions about her house and its history. A very attentive, warm, and interesting hostess. The home's yard and surrounding gardens are a delight to the eye-even in February! A highlight for us was the close proximity to red rock canyon hiking. Step out your front door, walk three blocks and the Southern Utah landscape lays open before your eyes and feet! After hiking, it was refreshing to return to the comfort of our room at Quicksand and Cactus.

Husband and I stayed for a week during the Huntsman Senior World Games in October. This was hubby's second stay and my first. Exceptional accomodation in all respects and we were wonderfully pampered by our host Carla. Perhaps "spoiled" is the better word.
This property is an historic Utah pioneer home and of Utah History author Juanita Brooks and located within the historic district of downtown St. George. A beautiful home in a beautiful setting.

Room Tip: Any of the four rooms are beautiful and comfortable.
