This was our only choice; plan ahead so you don't get stuck here. The family that runs it is trying, but basically failing. Smoke alarm started beeping at 2AM, battery dead so we'd be, too, if there was a fire. TV remote was dying. The A/C was from 50 years ago, might as well just take it down. Furniture too. The bed hurt my wife's back, but mine was OK. Shower is inconsistent, you may not get hot water. They are taking advantage of the short supply.

OWNERS: Come on, take some pride in ownership and take better care of your motel. Take a look at any modern motel and take a few steps forward in time, so you could compete on more than just being truly the last resort.

Room tip: avoid if you have back trouble

This will be one of those confusing/contradicting reviews:
It was strange that I was not able to find any recent review on Tripadvisor, however, due to the fact that we needed a place to stay close to Bryce National Park, few mixed reviews on “Booking” website and it was available with fairly cheap price (compared to other hotels, motels close to the park), I decided to give it a try.
First impression - upon arrival, we were greeted by Manager, polite and welcoming unfortunately overall property and his office were not good sign. Our room was in the main building (one of three rooms), next to Manager’s office. I was ensured that is the best place and mattresses we replaced recently. Overall, room was very dark; it had some strange smell, big gap under the main door and very small bathroom.
Furniture was, let’s just say “limited” and the room has a second door, I was not able to figure it out where it was leading, luckily it was locked, but I wouldn’t call it very secure. Bathroom as mentioned was very small, floor was not clean as we found shower cap on the floor, shower curtain was torn (big hole), and bathtub was fairly ok. Bed was comfortable; sheets were clean, pillows as well. Carpet – not so, I would suggest avoiding leaving anything on the floor.
Overall, room was very outdated, and worn – I had hard time to open a window in the bathroom, and then even harder to close it as the bathroom didn’t have a fan. Shades on bathroom window and the window in the room were full of dust, probably never cleaned. WiFi – it was working only if you are outside of the room, inside – almost not working at all. Parking was on the property, no extra charge.
Now, when you compare how much we paid for this room, again the bed was comfortable and clean, with no service (no change of towels, no extra soap and shampoo), compared to other hotels / motels, than I would not call it a “good deal”. To sum up – I would consider it only if nothing else is available.
Again to be fair, other rooms/residencies can be in better shape, not sure, but we stayed in a single room.

Manager was very welcoming. Motel is leftover from small town motels of decades past. Clean and bed was good. An inexpensive place so would stay again because, hey, it’s not a place of permanent residence but just a place to sleep!

We were caught without somewhere to stay and BCM was the only place in Pinguitch with a vacancy. The rooms could do with refurbishment - but I suppose you get what you pay for. The shower didn't work very well and the light bulb was dead.
The lady in reception was very friendly and helpful (new bulb supplied quickly).

We found Bryce Canyon Motel after realizing every motel and hotel around Bryce Canyon was full or charging at least $200 for a two bed room for one night. Fed up, we were about to sleep in our car for the night when we stumbled along the Bryce Canyon Motel and decided to see if they had rooms available. The prices were very reasonable, the room was spotless and the beds were probably comfier than our beds at home. What really made our stay unforgettable was the host, Vesna. She made us laugh and feel right at home in no time with her sweet and welcoming personality. It's very rare to find such a genuine person like her in the hotel business!
The Motel didn't have free breakfast, but we checked out in the morning feeling full thanks to Vesna's homemade scones. Delicious!

If you're looking to stay at another boring chain hotel, this isn't the option for you. If you're looking for local charm at an affordable price, this is the perfect place.
