Valley of the Gods is amazing. When driving the the dirt road you feel like you are the only visitor at the park since it is so vast and not so populated. Easy driving throughout and very scenic, There are places to pull-over to go hiking, take pictures or just enjoy the scenery. When in Utah, Valley of the Gods is well worth the visit and drive. Its free of charge to enter.

After spending time on San Juan river drove through Valley if the Gods. Gravel road with some steep parts but pretty easy drive with some great views. Spent about an hour going all the way through with a few stops for pics.

We drove thru the valley of the Gods on the way down to Monument Valley. It is amazing inside this dirt road inside the park. You literally are in the middle of nowhere with the occasional car passing you by and pop up camper set up inside this huge park. It does get a little unnerving as you keep driving as it seems like the dirt road will never end. Make sure you have enough gas as I started to worry about it about an hour inside the park. There ain’t no gas stations around, lol. But it was a cool side trip

During a previous trip to the Mexican Hat area, I saw signs pointing to the Valley of the Gods but did not take the time to drive through the valley, In May 2017 I thoroughly enjoyed two leisurely photographic excursions through the Valley of the Gods, one as a dark clouded storm approached and created fabulous pictures and one on a perfect blue-skied morning! I regret not hiking a couple of trails and plan to return for that purpose. Most tourists to the area head to Monument Valley which is certainly beautiful, but I actually prefer Valley of the Gods because few people visit it and its undisturbed beauty is certainly the equal of Monument valley. I enjoyed the opportunity to drive the dirt roads with virtually no interference from other cars and only a few bicycle riders!! It is my hope that the wrangling over Bears Ears National Monument doesn't end up harming the Valley of the Gods in any way!
