It's a nice little campground with no hookups (not a problem for us) so we reserved ahead and stayed 3 nights. If your camp unit is longer than 25-28 feet you should reserve ahead. They only have 3 slots that can accommodate 30' trailers. The campground is hilly so most spots are not level. Other than that, it was quiet, beautiful views of the lake and we enjoyed it until the wind whipped up for the last two days. Whipped might be an understatement! Haha! Overall, it was a pretty good stay.

Went kayaking here - the lake is so small, it is sort of boring. There were several big boats on the lake so we were sort of limited to the area right in front of the rental place. Won’t go back here for kayaking.

What a welcome! When asked at the entrance about a campsite for the night, the woman at the gate (whose name we did not get) dryly informed us what what the sites DID NOT have, and said it would be $25 a night, and it was assigned by them.

When we entered the campground, we discovered all the camp sites were on steep back-in or pull-through spurs, and not very level. We noted many people having to make up quite a bit of leveling for their vehicles.

This entire campground is just not well designed; the steep sites, bathroom building with rocky and unsafe access from campsites, sharp turns in the roads that could be difficult for larger rvs, The lake, at least this time of year, is about a quarter mile away from the campsites, and kind of muddy and rocky.

The next morning we discovered a thoroughly lovely and interesting campground a couple of miles away on BLM land in the Red Cliffs area. While it’s suitable only for small rvs or tent camping, that will be our choice next time! AND we have a 50% discount there with our Senior Pass!

This is not a place if you want to just swim as the beaches are rocky, but a nice place to go fish or paddle out a small boat to fish, kayak, or even get out and do some water skiing as it is somewhat small and not a lot of larger boaters really go to much. This is a deeper reservoir for water supply so no swimmers itch has been reported.

They do not make that clear . States no full hook ups , but that usually implies power and water ...the “lake “ is a large pond and very muddy

Thre campground at this park was great, the sites felt separate so we enjoyed time at the site without annoyance. There are no hook ups if you bring camper or R.V. We had 4 families and used one site for socializing, it worked perfect. If you are in a tent this is hard dirt and will need appropriate stakes and at least a blanket to put under your sleeping space.
Typical dessert weather for the time of year. We rented paddleboards for one afternoon. Easy online reserve and reasonable rates. The lake had a lot of traffic from sun up to sun down. Fishing was fine if you could stay away from the traffic, not an easy task.
I recommend this for a short, relaxing trip.

Happened across the lake, driving to go see another national park and decided to go there. The water is great and the place is like a beach! Bring a thick towel to lay on because the ground is hard

We took our paddle boards and kayaks to Quail Lake today with our teenage daughters. It was a lot of fun! There is a big section of the lake that is in the no wake zone. We were able to paddleboard and kayak without worrying about boats or large waves. The water wasn't too cold. It was very refreshing. There is also a few birds and ducks. It was easy to put the boards in the water by the dock. You also have a really pretty view of Pine Mountain.
