As a family of six we arrived about 8:30 & were immediately seated on a Wed night. We had Queso & chips, that included brisket, & when we ran out of chips before Queso , they brought us more chips. They brought 2 loaves bread & butter to the table, that was very good. Our waiter offered more, but we declined. My Caesar salad was perfect. Hubby enjoyed his wedge salad. I hate it when it is drowned in dressing. A couple of the group had the unsweet peach tea & really liked it. The filet's were very good. And the little extra that Saltgrass adds to the plate (fried onion strings) were actually tasty. One in the group ordered Salman & didn't realize it would be grilled so it tasted different than she was expecting. We enjoyed our visit with family in a very nice setting with delicious food.

We went on a Friday evening. The place was crowded and louder than Reliant (then again, Texans fans have little to cheer about).
1. We were seated after ordering from the bar. The drinks found our table (GOOD) but the bar tab is separate. So we handed over our credit card, which they DID NOT RETURN until we asked for it back from the "manager"... WHY did they need it?
2. MEAL WAS NOT AS REQUESTED and had to be sent back; this took extra time as the waitress got chatty at another table.
3. The waitress's was TOO BUSY to pay any attention and disappeared so could not be summoned for anything - not even the check.
4. When we were finally able to get our check, the itemized printout was for another table. They had already run our credit card (the one they kept until we asked for it), so the tickets did not match. It took several minutes to flag down staff and, eventually, the "manager' came yet again.
5. The meal was DISAPPOINTING, the staff was RUDE, and the "manager" was PATRONIZING.
6. ...But the BREAD WAS GOOD.

Great steakhouse. Fresh baked bread, large dinner salad, exceptional steaks. Service was also excellent.

Took wife and friends to Salt grass on I- 45 south and the food was great. Their steaks are cooked to perfection and taste was really good. The Rib eyes are so tender you can cut with a fork. Get a salad and potatoes with the steak and this will fill you up.

One would think that eating steaks in Texas is something where you can't go wrong. And then there is Salt Grass. I didn't choose this restaurant, and honestly I don't know why we chose it anyway. The filets were dry as a bone, and even though ordered medium, the edges were more than well done and dry, but the center was pink and juicy as it should be. The meat was not very tender, which was rather strange, especially for a filet. The mashed potatoes tasted somewhat fruity. Well, I guess this was my first and only visit to a Salt Grass.
