Description: Cafe Homestead will be closing at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 16th. See website for details. Cafe Homestead serves deliciously healthful food in the unique setting of a traditional craft village in our sustainable, organic farming community. We offer grass-fed beef; fresh buns, bread and rolls baked daily from whole-grain flour by Artisan Oven; cheeses produced by our community’s internationally award-winning Brazos Valley Cheese company; and other fine foods, including our all-natural, delectable ice cream. Our fruit and vegetables are always fresh, and we strive to provide locally grown produce. Begun in 1994 as a small deli, Cafe Homestead has grown to become a restaurant serving over 45,000 guests a year and is widely known for its menu of traditional Texan, Mediterranean and specialty cuisines. Before or after enjoying a relaxing meal served by friendly people from our farm community, visit our craft shops, Gift Barn and Model Homestead and take a Hayride to our scenic overlook.

About 8 miles off the beaten path...but,,,,Awesome grass fed burger! Tomato Bisque my husband even loved! We topped it off with a slice of cheese cake topped with raspberries sauce! Delicious! Bathrooms are very clean. Several onsite buildings with craft and skill venues. Enjoyed talking to the people. Only regrets, did not have room for the homemade ice cream.

Thank Sherry A

This restaurant is rated the #1 restaurant in Waco....and for good reason! The jerk chicken tacos were out of this world and their famous jalapeño sweet potato soup was yummy! Save room for dessert..Homemade ice cream (many flavor options) and carrot cake were the perfect end to this meal. May try to come back one more time before we leave Waco.

The owner of our VRBO suggested we visit the Homestead and we really enjoyed the breakfast served to us at the restaurant. The shops were very informative and lots to see at no cost. You don’t see that very often.

This little cafe is about a 10 mile drive outside of town, and is part of a complex run by Heritage Ministries (I think?). We almost turned back because it appeared to be off the beaten path. It is well done, clean and beautiful. The food was good and the service efficient.

Went for lunch with coworkers as part of a retreat. I had the pastrami melt and it was really good. The potatoes were also good. Next time I go I will take my family.
