It is a very unassuming place, with several of the tables being card tables. The service was prompt, friendly & excellent, done by the apparent owner. The tortilla chips were refilled when the basket was half empty. They don't serve beer but you can bring your own. The ice tea was so-so. The food was ok, but not outstanding. The dishes were fairly spicy. They couldn't substitute flour tortillas for the dishes listed as being made with corn tortillas...draw your own conclusions. I probably wouldn't go back but you may like it.

We walked in with 6 adults and five kids. Long tables were great for us. It seemed to be the spot for locals. Started talking to four at the bar while getting a pitcher and found we had connections from home, 1500 miles away. Only one woman working the place but she was extremely efficient. It's cash only so be prepared. We discovered this after we ate. The owner said if we didn't have the cash we could stop in tomorrow and pay her! Who does that for strangers?

Rio Bravo is one of two Mexican restaurants in Terlingua. It’s a small, family-run eatery, offering a simple two-page menu of Mexican staples. The night we ate there, service was prompt and food (chile verde con carne and chiles rellenos) was good, if a touch on the salty side. Lower your expectations (after all, Terlingua is an old mining ghost town) and you will leave the restaurant full and satisfied.

A small restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating, We enjoyed the food and the service. The chicken enchiladas were particularly tasty!

After a few nights of cooking out, we were ready for good Mexican food! Rio Bravo hit the spot. I had their Mexican plate, which was good. The enchilada was different than what we are used to, it was flat vs rolled. However, still delicious with a spicy red sauce. The plate also included a taco, chalupa and chili relleno. I could have had an entire plate of rellenos! The batter was delicious and fried perfectly. Travel tip: They do not serve alcohol, but you can bring your own beer if you’d like. They offer indoor and outdoor seating options. This a family-run restaurant with everything hand-made! Great service!
