There was no disclosures upon booking regarding the lack of elevators. The phone number for the facility is disconnected. I emailed the travel group multiple times prior to the stay to get check in details. I could not get a response for several days. The boardwalk to the beach was not finished. We arrived at night and the garage lights were out as well as all lighting in the stairwell. The thermostat in the unit worked poorly. The power to our unit went out twice. The last night the power was off for at least 4 hours. Since it was too hot to sleep we packed in the dark at 6:00 am and left. The unit did not impress us to be as clean as it could’ve been. The facility just didn’t look in a state of good repair. Finally, the mosquitos were so bad that it was very difficult/impossible to be outside at night. I’ve been coming to Port A and Mustang Island annually for more than 25 years. This is my first and last stay at Mustang Island Beach Club. This also the first negative review I’ve ever written.

Hi Bruce, we want all of our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we're sorry that you experienced some issues during your trip. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following: 1) We will add to our description that this is a condo on the second floor with only staircase access. 2) We try our best to provide a great environment for guests, but sometimes external factors like the boardwalk, the power, or the lights are managed by the HOA and are simply out of our control. 3) We encourage guests to reach out to our guest contact while they are in residence with any issues so that they can address any concerns quickly for a most comfortable stay. 4) Evolve sends check-in instructions 2 weeks and 72 hours before a guest's stay. Thanks for letting us know about your experience.
