Quiet beach themed villa with great kitchen and comfortable king bed! Close to beach and restaurants.
The room was very spacious. Loved the kitchen. The king bed was so comfortable. Easy access to the beach. Would definitely go back.
We were a little hesitant to book Villa 6 because there were no pictures of it on Shadow Palm's website (yikes!) but were thrilled to find that it was well-appointed and beautiful. Stylish finishes in the bathroom and kitchen (which had everything we could need to prepare a meal, even down to toothpicks and aluminum foil), freshly painted walls and beautiful wood-grain style tile floors. We loved the beachy vibe, stained-glass front door to let in afternoon light (but conserve privacy), and fully-tiled (wall to wall!) bathroom, which was great for cleaning up after the beach or pool.
The bedroom was spacious, linens were clean and fresh, and the memory foam mattress was very comfortable. There was no dresser to unpack for a longer stay, but we lived out of the suitcase since it was just the weekend. LOTS of space in the closet if you prefer to hang things. (And big enough for a pack-n-play, so we had our baby sleep in there with the sliding door just cracked a bit open--ha! Bonus feature!) There is a twin bed against one wall, which seemed a little odd to me but might work great for another family. We just put our kids on the pull-out couch in the living room.
The pool is really as beautiful as it looks in the pictures, too. The kids loved the whimsical touch of two small mosaic tile mermaids hidden under the water, and my husband thought the in-pool built-in tables and umbrellas were brilliant.
The only (small) things that kept me from giving this spot a full 5/5 were:
(1) the floor was still sandy from the last vacationers when we arrived, which was frustrating since we have a crawling-age baby. I think this was probably just an oversight, however, because otherwise the entire place was spic and span--and I am picky about cleanliness. :)
(2) The pull-out bed in the living room sofa was NOT comfortable for a grown-up. Worked great for our light-weight kiddos (ages 8 & 6), but probably wouldn't be the best for adults to sleep on.
Overall, I would absolutely recommend this cute little villa, and we would be happy to stay again. Proximity to the beach was good, finishes were elegant and stylish, space felt clean, updated, and well-cared for, and with just 8 villas in the whole space, the atmosphere was relaxing and quiet.
We stayed in Villa 6, in June 2017.
I have stayed at many condos on Port A - this has been the nicest by far. The place seems brand new - so that is nice, everything works inside the villas, it is perfectly clean, and the beds are in perfect shape. The villas are well stocked with basic necessities (pots, pans, wine opener, dishes, soaps etc..) and the AC actually gets cold. They provide lots of extra (and clean) blankets and pillows.
When we got there we found that there was an extra twin sized bed in the bedroom - which was very nice for our young son and we did not have to make up the sofa sleeper every night. Bonus !!
Since there are only 8 villas (I think) - the pool never gets crowded, always feels like your own private pool. We used the grill area to make dinner one night and it was super nice.
The owners are around if there is a problem - but they are not intrusive. AND they are MUCH easier to deal with than a rental company. Great communication if you have any questions.
You are easy walking distance to many golf cart rental places, and easy golf carting distance to the main shopping and restaurants area.
No problems here - will be back
