We moved to the Houston area with the race to put a man on the moon. As a child growing up in Space Town USA one of my favorite places to eat was Monterey House Mexican Restaurants. The old chain of classic Tex Mex diners has faded with a hand full
remaining. The Monterey Tex Mex Café on Southmore in Pasadena is one of the few remaining. The classic Monterey dinner is the one to choose! Two cheese enchiladas, a tamale, rice, refried beans and a cold plate with bean chalupa, taco, and queso covered tortilla chip. Folks it's classic Tex Mex, not fancy, but simply good and tasty!
