We stopped in New Braunfels for two nights while on vacation in the hill country. Needing my Mexican food fix we chose Mamacita's. Our server was exceptional even though they were busy. We were disappointed in the green sauce. The salsa was okay. There was plenty of food but the taste was just not there. I'm not sure how they make their guacamole but it was sub par. Wish there was less food but better taste.

Don't let the name decieve you, this is not Mamacita's. The restaurant was sold and the owner apparently pays a royalty to continue using the name and logo. We felt tricked after this revelation.

We had noticed a lack of customers but thought maybe we just early. Mamacita's was always packed in the past. This was one of our favorite spots in New Braunfels for years, until now. Ownership has changed, the menu has changed, the prices have changed, and the recipes have changed. None for the better, although our server was good the meal quality was barely mediocre.

Mamacitas is my favorite place to get Mexican food in New Braunfels. Good cocktails and the chips and green sauce is amazing. Fajitas are really good and so are the enchiladas!!

Started with chips that have a decent salsa but lacks real zest - requested Salsa Verde in hope of more Mexican flavor but none to be had, given a picante sauce with jalapeño just added to bring up fire but no real taste (has sweet picante taste too - boo!). The green sauce with chips is really just some kind of spinach & artichoke dip; ok but certainly not a Mexican staple.
The worst part is the Bacon grease in the beans which overpowers all other tastes and should be excluded unless requested and made known at time of ordering! not assumed that all are going to appreciate the artistic license taken.
Due to this bacon grease use the meal was inedible but was still required to pay. Last time ever to do that!
