The owner is a very dear person whose historic knowledge of the area and interest in historic correctness is probably without equal. Of those historic homes available as a bed and breakfast, we stayed in the one called Rose Wild. The owner provides a tour of the home and the history of it upon check in. The owner's abilities as a tour guide are also probably without equal. If the remainder of the homes are on the same level as the one in which we stayed, they should be marketed as residential museums and not as bed and breakfasts.
As a bed and breakfast, the interior was dusty and had far too many cob webs. The refrigerator had not been cleaned in a long time. The kitchen oven was not properly caliberated and burned the food. The chairs and sofas were uncomfortable period pieces. The bed was uncomfortable and linen was musty. The water had a bad taste.
The bathroom needed a very good cleaning.
I would only tour this place and would never recommend it as a B& B.
