Description: Welcome to "GREEK TAVERNA" We would like to express our appreciation to our patrons and thank them for the years of support and of course we equally thank those of you that are here for the first time. A few words about our establishments: Achieving reputable status and the quality that we are famous for was not easy.We were forced to import our own wide selection of Greek products, seek, the finest available on the island and combine them with our cuisine for a final result of authentic quality.Whether it be from wines, meats, vegetables to sald shrimps, herbs or spices. Our meals are prepared and cooked upon request in order to ensure premium quality and as the wise words said: "quality takes time". We hope you enjoy yourselves. Feel free to ask for any assistance. Thank you.Greek Taverna.

The best Greek restaurant in canary island San Agustín with the original gyros and Greek cuisine.

The Greek Taverna is situated in the shopping centre in San Agustin. Some of the shops are closed but don't let that turn you off going to the restaurant. Once inside the door it really is very good. We dined here twice for lunch. It wasn't busy on either occasion. The staff were friendly and the restaurant is well decorated. The food was delicious and there is a good choice on the menu. The food is very well priced. We would have returned for a third visit but time was not on our side. I would definitely return to the Greek Taverna. As we didn't dine here for an evening meal I don't know if reservations would be needed. It may be worth checking as we passed it by on a number of evenings and it looked busy. If you like Greek food you will love this place.

My husband, daughter, son in law and grandson, stayed in San Augustine gran canaria for a week in June. The hotel we stayed in was self catering accommodation and basically so far out of town, you needed a taxi to get anywhere near civilization!! Especially when the local bars were closed until September, but that's another story.
Anyhow, we had passed this restaurant a number of times, on our way to las palmas, it is situated in a run down centre, ( which is another sad indictment of the effects of all inclusive hotels) yet always looked busy.
We booked a table for five, and were seated at a fantastic round table with tons of room for drinks, starter's, colouring books etc!
And then we started to eat. What can I say!! Basically, you will never have the same look o. Hummus in the UK again. The hummus they made was truly out of this world. We ended up sharing every course, from the luscious layers of rich bechamel sauce in the lasagna, to the seafood pasta, with langousines the size of dinner plates!
Every course elicited ooohs and aaahs from the table, and even my three year old grandson commented on the desserts. Oh yes, finish up with an Irish coffee, it truly will put hairs on your chest!!

We had a late lunch here. We shares the Taverna Meze for a starter. We had a super selection including Dolmadakia, humous, a large slice of feta cheese, tzatziki and a meatball in tomato sauce. There was plenty for two to share. For mains we had a large horiatiki salad and a santorini salad. They were large! With meze as a starter the small salad would have been enough. The large salad has two large slices of feta. I live on salads at home and struggled to finish so the waitress put it in a takeaway container for me to take back. We enjoyed the food. If you like Greek food worth a visit and don't be put off by it being in the shopping centre. The food was lovely.
