We stayed in the Villa Morar in July of this year for 1 week. The Villa is spacious and clean, and has a nice pool and secure area to relax! It took us a couple of days to seek out the area. But there are 2 supermarkets within 5 minutes walk, and both sell everything you need!
There are several bars and restaurants also within 5 minutes walk including a lovely Chinese! If you head on down to the Marina and beach about 15 mins, you will find many shops, bars and restaurants that are more expensive to eat! But the location is worth the money! The most popular area on a night we found, was the Bonanza strip about 10mins walk. The only downfall was being bombarded by street sellers about every 5 mins!
Due to the location, my wife struggled to walk from the Marina area up the hill, and we had to get a taxi 6 Euro! but if you are fit and well! There would be no problem.
in summary! The Villa is ideal for a family holiday. There is only aircon in The living room and main bedroom at a cost of 1 euro per hour. The other 2 bedrooms have none! The location is quiet and secure with all amenities, with an extra fridge for your beer! You would be advised to take the full address of the Villa with you. As many taxi drivers could not find it! But easily resolved! So all said, not a bad Holiday, and would go back again!
Villa Morar is a nice spacious villa set in a quiet cul de sac about 200 metres from the main road. Ideal for children as the property is walled and gated and provides a secure environment. The biggest plus is the pool which is bigger than appears on the pics and was the focal point for the holiday and much needed during the August sweltering temperatures.
The walk down to Benalmadena Puerto Marina takes about 15 mins but take note the return journey is uphill all the way and with 3 kids in 30 degrees + temperatures late at night,a taxi is a good plan. Cost is €6 but with 5 you need 2 taxis. Elsewhere in Benalmadena traveling around involves a lot of walking. Benalmadena Costa is 30 mins plus. Close to the villa is a local supermarket which is handy and a really good bar "El Corner" up the road. Cheap and very friendly. ,
A must trip is Benalmadena Pueblo for some traditional Spain and excellent bars and restaurants. Takes about 15 mins by car though trying to park is entertaining. If you are travelling with children then Tivoli World is a must. One pleasant visit (and it's free) is Parque De La Paloma.
Back to Villa Morar the accommodation is 3 decent size bedrooms, a good size lounge and we'll equipped kitchen. There is air con in the lounge and master bedroom but do note that you will need a supply of €1 coins for the meter ( you get one hour per euro)
Overall the villa is good value for Benalmadena but we would recommend a car as the distances to travel around can be considerable. Benalmadena is a lot bigger than we had imagined. The villa was clean and tidy on arrival but apart from a chap turning up once to clean the pool there is no other service provided. The pool and abundant sunshine made the holiday for us, and the BBQ for evenings on the patio with a supply and San Miguel and very cheap Rioja made it a memorable holiday.
