So from the point of checkin until we checked out things were just strange. When we arrived for check in there was no one there. After placing 3 calls to the number posted on the door we received a call saying "10 minutes and I come" and that was all. After about 15 minutes a gentleman and his young son arrived. They moved us out of the actual building down the block or a commercial like building with rooms on the third floor. I was happy to see the elevator there considering our heavy luggage but still we had no idea why we were being moved...
TO SAY THERE WAS A LANGUAGE BARRIER IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT...I understand I'm in Germany but the cook, housekeeper, or the check in person (possibly the owner) spoken practically no English. The woman from the kitchen became angry with us when we arrived for breakfast at 9:30am (at check in he said before 10am) and began shouting in German at us. I asked, in German, if she spoke English but she just continued shouting and then pulled out paper and began writing what she was shouting...in German...finally I used google translate to ask if she could type what she wanted us to know but she shoved my phone away and began talking to other guests in the room.
Then the night before check out we found a note on our table saying that we needed to move to another room because we had 3 guests and they needed our room for a patron that was to arrive "soon." I went to speak with someone about this and found the same Asian gentleman from check in. I handed him the note and explained that I was not moving because they "needed" the room and he said, "no problem."
Anyway the room was nice but you need to be fluent in German to stay here and maybe not care much about customer service...I also agree with other reviews that the street is busy morning and in the early afternoon...Saturday night was loud too....

ONE was the lowest rating available or it would have been a solid ZERO! After conversing with Freddy Nestele via email for over two weeks prior to my trip and him assuring me the "reservation was good"; imagine my disappointment and anger when arriving after travel all day and walking from the train station (not a short walk) that the only person present in the hotel was a handyman working on the floors in the dining area. The handyman told me that "they are at the fest" - mind you this was only one hour after the time I game Freddy for my arrival which was caused by Deutsche Bahn delay of 20 min into Stuttgart and the connection delay on the S-Bahn into Boblingen. It is good to know that the staff of the Schwanen is more focused on a festival vice potential customers. It was for the best; the hotel seems dated and not maintained well, but after walking a little further up the road I was pleasantly greeted and accommodated by Patricia Bockle at the Hotel Zum Reussenstein. If you are in the Bobligen area, the Reussenstein is the only option you should consider!!!

Room Tip: Book a room at the Hotel Zum Reussenstein!
