On a business trip we visited Rees as it was near to our customer. Reception at the Rheinpark was not very friendly, but we needed a room. First time in Germany I have ever been asked to pay BEFORE I was given the key to the room. Insisted in copying my passport, which is a bit unnecessary. My colleague and I must look untrustworthy! Price is on the high side but rooms are rooms are OK. Location is good, right on the river. Did not use the restaurant in the evening. Our foreign registered car was hounded around the town with warnings from residents and notes advising us that the residents objected to our parking the car even in a legitimate spot. Bizarre!!!
Hotel breakfast was good. Try the honeycomb! Although wild horses would not drag me back to this God foresaken little corner of Germany.

Room Tip: Try another hotel or even better a different town. Rees is dead unless it is mid summer

Dear Sir,
thank you for your stay in our hotel and your feedback.

We are very sorry , that you did not really felt good during your arrival and your stay in complete.
We also want to say sorry for the circumstances, you could not feel welcome during your arrival.
Friendliness is one of our highest values, we are afraid and really not pleased about you and your collegue were not treated like expected from you and our hotel management. We beg your pardon for that case. Although our reception clerk was behaving absolutely correct and has kept completely the hotels´own standards if a guest walks in without reservation. Like in all of our company hotels, it is our standard and company manner to take a copy of the passport and to take payment for the first nights. I does really not deal with a case of "untrustworthyness" or something else - it is just a general standard of our company and every guest in your recent position would be treated the same way in case of first stay. Although we really feel sorry, that you felt this way "unwelcome" or "untrustworthy" - that is last thing we want to.
Hotel owns three possibilities to park guest car, two outside parking lots free of charge and one garage. With a fee it is possible to use the garage for all hotel clients if there are free spaces.
Also you may find public parking lots across the street and the nearest surrounding. We feel sorry and beshamed for the towns residents treatment in case of parking your car. We also do not understand and want to beg your pardon in this case.
We want to say thank you, for your positive statements of hotel rooms and breakfast.
We hope although some bad impressions you may find your way back someday to our hotel on the riverside.
We would appreciate it, if you would give us a second chance to convience you of our friendliness, hospitality and service quality.

We stayed at this hotel for one night as part of our Rhine River cycle tour. We cycled past this hotel into the centre of Rees as it looked too good for us! The staff were very welcoming, considerate and became involved in tracking our delayed luggage - providing us with updates every half hour (they found it was delivered to another town - Wesel - and finally arrived well after 7:30pm!) No compensation provided by the bike touring company!!!
This hotel is situated right next to the Rhine River with most rooms sharing a view of the river. It is also central to the old part of town, and opposite a lovely park.
We had a luxurious room (#201) - a great size, modern, light and comfortable. Dual aspect windows provided good cross-ventilation (no air-conditioning). The room contained a large study table with chair, mini-bar, large TV and two king single beds pushed together to make a double. Free wifi was available in our room. The ensuite was adequate and modern with well-appointed fixtures.
The hotel had a restaurant, which also doubled as the breakfast room - with a generous outdoor seating area, positioned well to take in the splendid views of the Rhine River. The breakfast provisions were extremely adequate with a great assortment of cereals, breads, rolls, jams, juices, meats, cheeses, hot food, fresh fruit, cake and tea & coffee. This was included in our room rate. We could have sat here for hours just watching barges go by along the Rhine River!
Totally recommended.

Room Tip: Most rooms have Rhine River views.

Directly at the Rhein with a really nice view from the restaurant and from some of the rooms. They are moderate - but not more. Friendly stuff at the reeption, also the restaurant quality is moderate...
Surrounding is very nice, you can have a nice walk directly at the "Rhein" 1 minute away...

Room Tip: Take a room with a view to the "Rhein" for to have the only "feature" in the hotel...

I stayed for two nights and found the accomodation to be spacious and clean with a reasonable view of the Rhine. The staff are good and all the ones I met speak decent English. The wifi was free but not working in my room, something that will be addressed soon i am assured.
The restaurant is very good, I had a tomato soup which was a surprise- clear, like a consommé with broad beans and ravioli served in a kilner jar. I also had a schnitzel in mushroom sauce. Both were outstanding and the only thing that let it down was that the ravioli I would have sworn were fish not cheese.

Room Tip: Try to get one with a good view of the Rhine and not at the end of a corridor so the wifi works!

The hotel stuff is friendly but the hotel is old, especially rooms. This can not be 4* hotel at all. It is normal 3* hotel. The restaurant is nice but the food is not OK. The food have been to salty and very small portions. The kitchen is not OK at all. I do not suggest to take food there. And is it expensive (one small steak 27 eur).
