“Rustic charm and quality food awaits you at the end of an epic ski run”

The epic 7km Aiguille Rouge piste is one of the highlights of Les Arcs and it ends in the pretty village of Villaroger (there is also a lovely, winding 4km blue run called Lys leading the same way). And tucked away amid a row of stone farmhouses is La Ferme, a traditional mountain restaurant that offers both table service and a self-service counter. There were ten of us so we went self-service and ate outside on the terrace. Everyone agreed that the food was excellent and two members of the party said that the potato boulangere was the best they'd ever eaten! Plan your day and ski to Villaroger for lunch.

At the very end of the ski resort this restaurant bar in the small village of Villaroger is a gem. Great local dishes and terrace setting overlooking the valley and adjacent mountains. Well worth the schlepp (take the black or red runs as the blue goes on for ages!).

Local Beer is excellent. I had the Venison, which was amazing. At the Bottom of Aguile Rouge ski run.

We had a quick self service lunch post the 2000m vertical descent down from the Aiguille Rouge. The food was good, portion size generous and prices below most near piste options. The main issue is the number of stairs - up to the terrace, down one set to toilets, down two sets to the self-service canteen - hard work in ski boots after a long lift-free descent. TIP: combine all your required stair trips in one go!

La Ferme is a traditional Savoyarde restaurant serving all the usual suspects; tartiflette, fondue, diots etc. the setting is informal and the owner a true legend.
