5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 19 Dec 2020via mobile
Had the chance to stay at the Grand Aigle in January during my weekend in Serre Chevalier. Everything was perfect from the warm welcoming to the quality of the room. Nice location and beautiful view. Breakfast are really good with lots of choice on the buffet. Thank you for making my stay amazing, I can’t wait to come back

We stayed here for 1 week at the start of February, unfortunately, the skiing conditions could have been better due to wind and ice, but could not fault the hotel! We stayed halfboard in a deluxe room in the old part of the hotel - in my opinion, definitely worth the upgrade, the room was beautiful and there was plenty of space. The hotel staff were so friendly through, a special mention to Maeva who gave us really good wine suggestions in the restaurant and even sent us away with a list of French wines we should try in the future! We booked the spa for 2 of the evenings we were there and had to ourselves both times, really relaxing after full days of skiing! The hotel bar was also really lovely with an open fire and we had food in there a couple of afternoons which was also of a high standard! We enjoyed the trip so much that we are actually returning next year and can't wait! The resort and slopes are a lot quieter than some of the bigger French resorts which is definitely a plus as well!

What a great location and very friendly staff. It is a ski in and ski out granted slightly slippery. The rooms are small but perfect. We had two rooms one with balcony and one without . I highly recommend a room with a balcony great way to start and end the day watching the sun rise and set . The spa you need to pre book . It is also small and fits 4 people very tight in the hot tub. The shower in the spa too smelly and drips. Breakfast buffet also perfect with enough variety and choice. Maeve and all the waitresses very friendly smiley offered help when ever we needed anything .

    Dear Lumab2015,

We thank you for your positive feedback, whether on the quality of the welcome, the location of our hotel or the services we offer.
Effectively the classic rooms are small as you can see in the photos and descriptions. We are oriented East - West which allows you to enjoy the sunrise as you say.For the SPA we recommend when booking a maximum of 4 people, and to exchange by two people the jacuzzi and the sauna, because the space is limited. The SPA shower is available for customers, and the space is cleaned regularly by the SPA team. Unfortunately, odor is a sewer problem. We take your comment into account and we will do our best to resolve this issue. We offer 2 other showers and toilets available at the spa to our customers.
We will not fail to congratulate our teams and especially Maeva for helping you during your stay.
Thanking you and hoping to welcome you back to our establishment
    Best regards,

Super calm and cosy boutique hotel, with best location around. Rooms elegant, clean and finished with taste and high quality. Animals are accepted. Service on very high level. Very good breakfast and local menu for a dinner. Good choice for holidays or weekend. We have been there 5 days and it was great time.

The hotel is clean and cozy and well located, breakfast is superb and staff is friendly, just check that the room size fits your needs because rooms can be very small, almost claustrofobic, and you may not be happy about it.

Great front of house staff (Lou), terrific bar staff and waiters: cheerful and efficient. Very comfortable bar/lounge with fire. Housekeeping failed to do room one day and argued that they had. Gorgeous room (23). Gloomy ill lit corridors. Excellent breakfast. Dinner looked good but was tasteless, very disappointing indeed. Not ideal for a ski in/out hotel: nearby gondola takes you nowhere, have to take tricky red or beaten up green to get back.

Le Grand Aigle Hotel & SPA thanks you for taking your time to share an opinion about your stay. We attach a lot of importance to the well-being of our customers. The housekeeping staff is really sorry for this inconvenience. Howether the head housekeeper have checked your room after your complain and confirmed that the sheets, towels, bathroom products, etc have been changed during your skiing day. She also confirm that the bed has been done. He are a real ski in - ski out Hotel access. Regarding to the Pontillas lift next to the hotel, it is right that it does not allow the access to the entire ski resort, but you have the possibility to arrive to the Fréjus or Casse du Bœuf lifts by the green slope « route du bez » or by 5-10 minutes walking from the hotel. By the way Lou is very touched by your nicely words!

    Kind regards.
