Owner description: The Dockyard Company LTD. A Bermuda company, has been in operation for over 16 years. We had simple beginnings as a small glass studio with a passion for the Arts. We have grown into a larger Studio, training apprentices in the Traditional Venetian Style Glassblowing of our Glass Maestros in Classic Blown and Hand-Worked collectibles. Soon after opening, The Dockyard Company Ltd; The Bermuda Rumcake Company, started producing locally made Rumcakes and also increased further support of other individual artists in different fields across Bermuda.

I would have liked to bring home some of the different fruitcakes as gifts but $16.95 U.S. ($23.00 CAD) for a very, very, small piece was rather over the top. Later that week we went to St. George and a lady on our mini bus got them for 1/2 price as they were 30 days from the expiry date. Some of the glass items were cute but also very expensive and nowhere near the finished quality you would get for blown glass we saw in Venice. The bottoms on many of the pieces were quite roughly finished.

Interesting place for buying self made glass objects and seeing how they blow glass but not only that, you can can buy rum cakes as well. Friendly staff.

Lots of beautiful items to see. Too fragile for me with a couple of busy toddlers :-) but fun to see nonetheless. We did purchase a couple of small rum cakes which we're excite d to bring home to our family. Yes, as others have mentioned, the building is hot but it's not unbearable by any means. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, but not pushy at all. We didn't see a demonstration but enjoyed looking around.

If you have an hour at the Dockyard area, it's interesting to watch the glass blowers at work. I was especially impressed by the people who made the tiny figurines because it seemed to require a lot of detailed work and precision. The glass objects available for purchase were quite nice but expensive. Children would require supervision because I believe that if you break it you bought it.

They we're blowing glass in front of visitors all day long. The staff was very nice and helpful. They even are making a special custom piece of blown glass for my family at a great price. I would recommend.
