Listed in both the Repsol guide and Michelin guide really surprises me. This restaurant is located in an industrial unit that has been modified quite well but it is still an industrial unit!!

From arrival it was obvious that they were not many staff. The jamon bellota was poor. For main course the leg of lamb (cordero) was excellent but the fillet steak (solomillo) was served rare when we ordered well done - how can a professional chef get it so wrong? We sent the steak back and it was returned 'black' - totally burnt. Not big or clever!

For dessert we ordered apple tart (tarte de manzana) with ice cream. The ice cream was low quality stuff that you can buy in low end supermarkets and the pastry of the tart was uncooked.

At one point we noted that there were no staff on the restaurant floor for over 12 minutes, incredibly eh?

Interestingly, as other reviewers have noted, without complaining the over-inflated prices were discounted when the invoice arrived to a much more realistic level.
Still disappointed and we will not return, there are much better restaurants nearby.

The restaurant was less than 25% full on a saturday night which surprised me given the quality of the food. The restaurant has an old fashioned charm about it and the service was impeccable. I had mussels followed by Oxtail which was superb. My wife had croquettas followed by pigs cheeks which again were first class. A party on an adjacent table had the taster menu which looked excellent. I will definitely revisit next year when back in the area.

Lets start by telling you what we had. You will not believe the quality and price when we are finished with this review.

We elected the Taster Menu which consisted of:

Canarian Potatoes...as an appetiser with a glass of very good quality white wine
followed by
Pan Fried Foie Gras on crouton, with a honey sauce (Spectacular)
another glass of white wine followed by
Gazpacho - served with crab, with a coral mayonnaise on a crouton with diced vegetables and the gazpacho served over it.. very very good. Then a superb
Monkfish fillet served on potato with a tomato puree, and a red vinegar reduction sauce
We were then served a lovely red Rioja (a full bottle) to eat with
Fillet of Beef, wrapped in a smoked bacon with a truffle sauce with cep mushrooms
It was perfectly cooked, served rare and absolutely fantastic
the dessert was normally an Apple Tart with Vanilla ice cream, which my partner had and it was delicious. I however had a cheesecake flan with a sorbet. This was historic as Michael Winner would say.
We then had two espresso's.
We were then offered a digestif... my partner had a single malt whisky, in a balloon glass with ice.. I had two lemoncellos. Fabulous.
This was served with a litre of bottled water and bread with a very high quality olive oil (2 rounds).

Get ready to faint. The total bill, including IVA (VAT) was €74.80.

Have you recovered? It was UNBELIEVABLE. The food is of Michelin standard and was really exceptional and the bill was so modest we were embarrassed to pay so little. If you are in the Madrid region, this place is well worth the detour. it is located right at the end of the Metro Line 10, near the Hospital Infanta Sofia on an industrial estate. We found it hard to believe that a restaurant of this quality could be found in such a location.. but you need to believe when we say, it is well worth the detour!!

The service was attentive, friendly and of very high quality. The staff understood the menu and were able to talk knowledgeably about the wine and food. The ambience is nice... the room round, with fresco's painted of seascapes, as if you were in a lighthouse (Faro). Lovely table setting with table cloths, lovely cutlery and glasses. It is classy without being stuffy.

This is the best restaurant we have been to for years and for the price it can never be matched. Run don't walk before everyone else catches on and the prices skyrocket. We would happily have paid double...
