Hotel Posada Don Jaime
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 29 December 2011

We needed a hotel to provide for a family get-together. El Escorial itself looked to be in a good location for our purposes, and the Hotel Posada received good reviews on-line. An excellent choice. On-line queries at the time of booking were answered efficiently, and we were provided with two rooms sharing a common balcony. Esther and the family gave a warm welcome and our rooms were ideal. Breakfasts were very good. Again: an excellent choice!

After three weeks on the road in Spain and Portugal, it was great to try a new experience away from hotels and in a Posada. We had already been to Madrid, but didn't want to be too far away from the city since we had a mid morning flight back home. San Lorenzo de El Escorial is beautiful and this Posada was superb.

Right in the heart of town, you can walk to everything this lovely little town has to offer. It is upscale, yet priced reasonable. The owner and his son were very friendly and helped us get our luggage up to the top floor.

Our room had a beautiful skylight, was made of all wood and the bathroom was nice and large.

I highly recommend both this Posada and El Escorial as a place to stay.

We were a large family traveling together to visit family and friends in Spain. Esther, her husband, and her sons truly made our stay feel like home. She helped me with room choices, soccer tickets, and even checked on us after we arrived back in the USA to make sure we had a safe trip home. I have traveled all over the world...stayed in many 5 star resorts, but my stay with Esther will always be remembered. El Escorail is a wonderful place to relax, take in the sights, and just enjoy the wonderful Spanish hospitality. I can not wait to stay with Esther and her family again and trust me I WILL. They were truly amazing.

Room Tip: We loved Suite 8.

I had the pleasure of staying there from 28th - 31st march,2011. This was my first visit to Spain and it was a nice one. The rooms very nice, the ambiance of this hotel is very good and positive. high speed wireless internet (wifi) .The hotel owners speak in english apart from spanish ,so it is nice to be here on your 1st visit to Spain. The hotel is 2 min walk from the monastery and is centrally located. The hotel has nice and cozy rooms with a nice bath tub. Heater,air-conditioner and a big closet. The rates are very reasonable for the hotel. The stay in the hotel is very safe and you can leave your bags behind without any fear. the management of the hotel is nice. I had a great time here.. I recommend,if you are planning to visit San Lorenzo De El Escorial, this is the place where you should come to.
