“Charming Farmers Market”

This is one of my favorite places to go on Saturday mornings during the season. It is packed with interesting vendors and their wares. You can taste fresh goat cheese and home grown fruits and veggies. There are organic eggs to buy, homemade soaps, artisan pickles, vegan chocolates and an occasional wine tasting. If you are looking for fresh tamales, original jewelry and wonderful Texas made cheeses, this is the place to be. You will wander around old farmhouses, under trees and around shrubbery during your visit. Pick up a fresh pastry on your way back to the car.

Take a step back in time, and visit historic Chestnut Square. The lovely old buildings, old fashioned general store and beautiful grounds are the perfect backdrop for weddings, festivals, and he popular Saturday farmer's market. Even on a hot Texas day, the old shady trees and ambiance offer visitors a perfect day.

We are visiting from CA and decide to check out the local farmers market. We love supporting small businesses. Bought some soap, honey and ate some yummy fried pies!! Thank you!
