This is an awesome trail to go run on! I went on a Saturday and it was very crowded, so be careful and watch your surroundings.

Spent 7 days in McKinney and rode the trails 5 days - very well maintained. Offers challenges to all riding levels. Check out Cadence Cycle in McKinney if you need anything they were a great help to me!!

This place is awesome. If you don't mind the heat in the summer, this is a great place to escape to. While you are here you feel miles and miles away from the city; however, you are just a hop skip and a jump from McKinney TX. They have sweet single track trails that go for miles and miles. Excellent for mountain biking and hiking. The cool (literally) thing is, the trail goes in and out of the trees the whole time. That way you aren't in the hot sun the whole time. While we were there we saw several cardinal birds. Very quiet, and so relaxing. I even saw camping sites. At one point they had some older looking swing sets. They also had some little buildings that housed some rest rooms. I highly recommend this place.

Great trails for any level of biking. Sometimes I use the trails to run as well. Nice to be in the trees when the weather is nice.

If you want to feel like you're really out in the country and not at "city park"? This is the place for you. No sidewalks here. It's rough and interesting. You might see some wildlife and you might get chiggers so take the bug spray!! The bike path is great for off-road biking and the paved portion is challenging for on the road bikes. Lots of hills and curves.
Take some water and a picnic and you have a wonderful day ahead of you. There is one small play area that has some nice shade.

This is a fairly large area that encompasses a variety of terrains. We like to hike the trails and observe the details we'd miss if biking - even tho it is a great bike experience too.

What a pretty place to hike and enjoy spring! Lovely flowers everywhere! Bathrooms were horrible dirty!

This park is located in the northwest quadrant of McKinney. It has a rural setting and is surrounded by farmland and wooded areas. It is very scenic and has a lot of open space with great views. It is a great place to spend a few hours or to stay overnight. There is free admission to the park, but camping spaces and pavilions must be reserved with the City of McKinney.

Not exceptionally challenging, but ample set of trails through the rolling terrain of Collin County. It's a popular spot on weekends.

This park is west of McKinney and easy access. But the amenities are slim. There are 3 Pavillions, the Pecan Grove, the Hill top and the Out Back. The first two have toilet facilities nearby. The two stall toilets do not have doors, so that may be not as good as a port a potty because at least a portapotty has a door. At Pecan Grove there are several picnic tables and fire ring. The other campsites each have one picnic table and a fire ring. There is no running water, except in the sinks in the toilet facilities. So you cannot fill large water containers. There are no electrical hookups. There is a small pond but not too far from Pecan Grove area but looks too small for fishing. There are some decent riding trails but probably not as good as Bonham State Park and definitely easier than Tyler State Park. But for flat easy riding, Oak Trail is great. Erwin has the location to be a good park but lacks decent amenities for camping. The bathrooms are not good and today smelled and looked disgusting. Camping and Pavillions must be paid for in advance and camp sights other than pavilion ones, are first come first pick.
