“Hard to find and creepy!”
Review of Dead Man's Hole

There are no signs from 281 guiding you to this historical site, nor are there any as you get closer on the local roads. If you don't plan ahead and check out the directions, you won't even know you passed it. When you do find it, it is a pretty creepy hole in the middle of a field that is sealed shut. It is only a few miles off of the main road so if you do want to check it out it will only take about 15 minutes or so. It is definitely am eerie, goose bump experience.

This is a bit of history, not much to see but maybe give you a push to do some research. It is not easy to find, just a basic street sign on the road, Dead Mans Drive. It is in a nice area for a drive.

Was recommended by our hostess at the resort. Interesting bit of history. Not hard to find and not much to see, but do a bit of research on the web to get the full story.

This is an interesting spot to see at least once. It has an historical significance from the early days of Burnet County that can be instructive. Take CR401 to the east from US281 (south of Marble Falls) or north from TX71 just east of the junction with US281. You will have to watch carefully for the marker on the east side of CR401, as it is a small site.

I wouldn't make a special trip just for this. But my 8 and 9 year olds loved the story and history of this cool hole!
