A quirky cottage with nice furnishings and added extras to make you feel more at home . Very comfy bed and safe parking behind closed gates in front of property . Set in a busy village with supermarket , chippy ,pubs ,hairdressers ,bakery and other shops within a minutes walk . We did feel it needed a spring clean though and a bit of t.l.c. but after pointing this out to the owner who was horrified and clearly hadn't done a recent check on the property we felt it would be taken care of . Nicely located to visit Portsmouth . Arundel castle and Chichester .

“Pretty cottage, in an ideal location”
Reviewed 6 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

This cottage is ideally located at the end of a gated driveway, within the garden of the owners house. Within easy walking distance are a Coop for groceries, papers, cash etc., two pubs for drink and/or dinner and a fish and chip shop. Nearby Emsworth has numerous coffee shops, stores, the Oyster trail walk around the mill pond, and yet more pubs, and has a good bus service to Portsmouth etc. The cottage is very well equipped, including a Nespresso machine. The living room includes throws for chilly evenings, and a selection of DVDs and books. As the living areas are upstairs, you do need to be able to handle stairs, and we did bang our heads a few times on the eaves. You also need to be carry your meals upstairs, although the kitchen is ideal for breakfast meals. Our one disappointment was that we lost our access to the Internet via the wifi every evening around 8pm, mostly working again the following morning. The owner advised this was a BT problem, and would be fixed the week after we left. This is the first time we have rented a cottage so not sure what the norms are, but as we were there for 2 weeks I expected a cleaning at the end of the first week, but that did not happen. The linens, which were wonderfully soft, were changed after 5 days, and then not again which was strange.

Apart from those concerns, we would recommend this cottage as a delightful place to stay, and an ideal bolt hole when the weather is not kind. You can truly relax here and feel at home.
