We loved that the ocean is right across the street. It was awesome looking out the sliding glass doors or being on the balcony and watching the ocean. The 2 pools are great especially the kids pool. It has the 0 entry where it is only like an inch of water and gradually gets deeper great for our 11 month old. There are also 2 hot tubs. The grounds are very pretty and maintained. They have grill's and a tennis court. There was cafe there but we didn't get a chance to try it, next time! Liked the fact you can park in covered garage and at night its gated and there is a security guard there. There are steps and elevators. They offer shared laundry facilities, work out room, arcade, and ice machines. The front desk staff was pleasant and helpful. Check out the brochures they have useful info for the area and coupons for moody gardens and possibly others we didn't check all. The condo's themselves are mostly privately owned we did not rent through the hotel. So you really need to do your homework on the type of condo you are looking for. Read the reviews about each one your looking view the pictures call/email questions you may have. That way you won't be disappointed or not know what your condo will be like. We stayed in 6102 it was updated and nice. It had a great view of the ocean. It had nice flooring and no funky or musty smells. It was a one bedroom. When you walk in there was a small closet that had a vacuum, a mop, and a swifter sweeper. On the outside there was a row of hooks which was nice for pool/beach towels or bathing suits etc.To the right is the bedroom. It was small but nice. It had a little window to the outdoor walk way a nice size dresser with a flat screen tv, 2 night stands and another closet with ironing board extra pillows and blankets. The bed was ok probably could do with a new mattress the sheets, pillows, and cover were good. In the hallway are bunk beds built in the wall. They seem perfect for kids. We liked that it was open underneath for our shoes and beach bags. There was also a big deep basket for storage too. Across from that is a bathroom which is a little small but functional it has been updated with a nice tile walk in shower which is spacious. It also means no tub, which we were aware of when booking we brought a portable tub for our daughter which fit in there no problem. The only problem with the shower is that it leaks out of he glass door onto the bathroom floor and into the hallway. We kept towel down wiped it up and hung dry till the next shower. They had some hand soap, shampoo, and conditioner(trial sizes) There were also towels and 2 rolls of toilet paper provided. There was a lovely kitchenette. Nice new counter tops, back splash, cabinets, big sink, 2 burner cook top, small dishwasher, medium fridge/freezer,( bigger than dorm room size), and a microwave. They had basic kitchen items, coffee maker, toaster, blender, bowls, some pots and pans, plates, cups glasses, silverware, a roll of paper towels, dish soap and dishwasher pods, etc, This unit has stools to sit and eat at the counter no table and chairs except on the balcony(but there were only 2 chairs and the were low lounge type chairs we used small pillows to put behind our backs.) The living room area was nice had a chair, couch that pulled out(we didn't use it) a coffee table and a big screen tv on the wall. It is decorated pretty. There are ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom. The central ac worked great! The outdoor balcony is big and looks right out to the ocean and pool to the right. The view is great! You can see the ocean from the kitchen and living room too. The vertical blinds in the living room do need to be replaced. Ok so the unit was for the most part clean. However the floors needed a good mopping our feet were black, The outside of the microwave had fingerprints on it as well as one of the counter tops. The bathroom and bedroom were clean. So all in all we would definitely stay here again, We really enjoyed ourselves. Being able to go across the street spend time on the beach and come back for our daughters nap was so convenient. This unit was close to both pools as well. Plus the Walmart is on the side street and we were able to get some food and make some meals right in our condo. We had breakfast out on the balcony watching the waves. It is within close driving distance to the areas attractions we went to Moody Gardens Aquarium it was only about 2.5 miles away. I did let them know about the few things that needed attention. It looks to be one of the nicer 1 bedrooms. We look forward to coming back!

Room Tip: Check out each room as they are most individually owned, use sites like Home Away, or Vacasa.

Stayed at the Victorian as a last minute trip. Plenty of rooms so it was easy to secure. Had trouble with my check in though. Had made reservations but it wasn't showing up in their system. Tried to speak to Beverly their manager but she always seemed out of pocket. In spite of this I enjoyed my stay. Rooms are a bit dated yet still very comfortable. The room had enough amenities to make it workable for an extended stay if one wished. Considering the prices of Galveston hotels in the summer the Victorian is very reasonable. Wound up really enjoying my overnighter. The grounds are well kept and the views from the balcony were very nice. Actually planning another stay later this summer.

Room Tip: Ask about your balcony view. Large complex...familiarize yourself quickly

Excellent service, great location, no oven but serviceable kitchen. But the bed- the bed is the worst thing I have ever tried to sleep on. It's like sleeping in a bouncy house. If you moved too much it was likely to shoot you into orbit. It's like they just kept adding foam toppers instead of replacing the mattress, but it still managed to be the springiest mattress in existence.

Being able to see the see from a balcony is great. I can watch waves for hours. I just didnt' enjoy it from the room I was given.

The only thing acceptable about the kitchen was the microwave and the cooking spoons. The dishwasher and refrigerator are so old, and the range burners need to be replaced. The cookware was scratched teflon. The can opener and toaster didn't work. The coffee maker was missing parts. No potholders. The flatware was flimsy. The only sharp knives were a paring knife and a carving knife. No bakeware present. My husband and I went to Big Lots and purchased what we needed so that I could cook.

The bed was comfortably soft, and the linen was clean. The closet door would not close, the chest-of-drawers and nightstand were peeling, and the television was so small, even for a small room.

The vanity in the bathroom was very low and was rotting away at the floor. There was a closet door in the hallway that had a keyed deadbolt where the door knob should have been. My curious husband discovered it to be a closet, with dirty bed linens in it from a past visitor.

I have seen a picture of an updated room at this property, and correctly decorated and refreshed this place has possibilities. The room we had could shine. Whoever owns it right now must not care.

Room Tip: Check the room before you accept it. Some are great, ours was crappy.

Thank you for taking the time to write the review. Our staff takes each review very seriously and strive to make improvements where needed. Each condo at our property is individually owned and without knowing the condo that you stayed in, it is difficult to research each issue. Each guest that rents from our rental pool is instructed by our onsite staff to call guest services with any issues to their condo. We have a housekeeping and maintenance staff onsite seven days a week that resolve any problems that may arise. If you would be so kind to let us know the condo number that you stayed in, we will be happy to investigate the problems.

Condo was appalling. Overpowering smell of air fresheners. Very dangerous condo. Open electrical sockets and light switches. Dirty pans. A brown chair that is thread bare. Patio door handle completely broken off. Only way to secure the door is with a piece of wood the owners left. We booked for 10 days/ nights. Stayed less than 24 hrs and booked somewhere else to stay. When I informed the owner and they got back to me, they checked that I had booked our only to be told no we had not and no one was aware of it. What a fight to get our money back and no apology

In response to your review, it appears that you rented directly from an owner instead of from the rental pool. Renting from the rental pool ensures that any issues that may arise can be taken care of from our onsite maintenance and housekeeping departments. Please let us know what condo number that you occupied.
