“World's best ceviche”
Reviewed 17 March 2012

Trip Advisor rated this restaurant #1 in Galveston when we researched our trip. We agree- great service, decor, quiet; owner greeted us. Fresh Gulf ceviche starter was delicious as were the rest of our choices. Walking distance from the Tremont House Hotel.

“Probably the best in Galveston”
Reviewed 14 March 2012

Asked a lot of locals and they all said ... Rudy's and Paco's so we went. It was outstanding. Very nice wine selection ... fairly priced. Paco was walking around to check on everyone. All the help was smiling ... so Paco must be a nice owner. We shared a house said and Paco Calamari ... lightly battered fried but not greasy with car mailed onions and some pepers... no t hot bu t nicely seasoned. Jan did the Paco Simpatico ... plantain crusted red snapper that was perfect. I had Vuelva Vidal, a nice broth ... some heat ... with calamari, shrimp and crab claws with linguini. Wow, plenty to eat, the claws were shelled so easy to eat, the shrimp and calamari were done perfectly. Desert was a bourbon bread pudding ... warm and more like custard than bread. The service was excellent. I agree with the locals ... the best place in Galveston. It's pricy but worth it.

“EXCELLENT FOOD, SLOW DINING”
Reviewed 13 March 2012

The food was excellent - especially the bowl of plantains beforehand. I had scallops which were tender and juicy. My son had the ribeye with the bone in. It was excellent but almost more than he could eat. My husband had some kind of fish and said it too was very good. It was crowded so make a reservation.

Great restaurant with superb cooking. The red snapper was particularly good. Very friendly service but rather expensive.

“Freshest fish anywhere!”
Reviewed 2 March 2012

The red snapper and grouper were incredibly fresh, well-prepared, and served hot out of the kitchen. Excellent service. Fried plantains (complimentary) are so yummy.
