We were visiting from Louisiana thinking we were going to get some good TEXAS BBQ, and we were wrong! I gave this review 3 stars because of the customer service. The lady who took our order was very nice, and we got our food pretty quick. We ordered the brisket and sausage plate with the spicy rice and baked beans, a sausage plate with the same sides and added a side of potato salad, and mac & cheese with 3 slices of their sweet potato pie. On a positive note, the sausage was really good, but it didn't taste like it came off a grill. The potato salad was really good, the best that I have tasted from a restaurant. The sweet potato pie was just ok, I have had better. Now for the negative, the brisket was dry and there were too many burnt pieces on it. Out of both plates we may have had 3 good tender pieces of brisket. The spicy rice was too spicy, and it didn't go well with the meats. The mac & cheese wasn't good and there was no seasoning and it tasted like it came from a box. The baked beans was too sweet and the taste of it was not good. I feel like they need to take more time out to really cook their brisket so that it could be tender, and make "Rice Dressing" instead of this spicy rice and take their time when making the beans. This is supposed to be a restaurant where you are suppose to get good homemade comfort food. I think we must have chosen the wrong day to go, because the food taste as though they really didn't want to cook that day. This experience was too expensive for us to even give this place a 2nd chance!

This was our first bbq stop on our first trip to Texas in many years. The brisket: top notch. Sausage: one of the best I’ve had. Ribs: not quite as great, but still very good. Only one sauce, but a very good one. Sides were basic but tasty. Prices were pretty reasonable. The place is unassuming, but don’t be put off. The owner came out and chatted with us a bit. He is the real deal. This place is definitely worth your attention.

We stopped here based on the good ratings from a few quick searches on our phones. The food and service was awesome and we would highly recommend a stop here. The brisket was the best I have ever had. The green beans, cole slaw, and potato salad were also very good. Since it was closing time when we finished eating, Leon came out from the kitchen and spent some time at our table. He could not have been any nicer and the kids took some pictures with him before we left. Don't let the outside of this place fool you, what is on the inside is awesome!

Went here under the recommendation of Texas Monthly- inside there are 6-8 tables, and unlike most BBQ places we have been, there is an actual waitress that will seat you and take your order, versus ordering at the counter top. We enjoyed all we had, but we are from Dallas, and there a still a few places that would top this. The ribs were definitely better than the brisket, but the brisket was definitely worth a return trip.

After seeing a spot on Food Network featuring Leon’s Worlds Finest Barbeque we decided to see what it was all about. Had it not been for seeing it on TV, we might never have stopped by to give it a try and that would have been our loss. The restaurant isn’t fancy, it’s really casual and laid back. There are only maybe 6 tables, but never let appearances fool you. It is called World’s Finest Barbecue for a reason! The food was great, juicy tender brisket and great tasting sides with some home made corn bread made a wonderful lunch! The flavor of the brisket was really good and we enjoyed every bit. There was even leftover brisket that we brought back home and used to season a pot of pinto beans. Those were some great beans! Thanks Leon! I would definitely recommend this place for some wonderful Barbeque. It is a hidden Jewel In Galveston!
