A friend and I came to Fredericksburg for a quite stay in May of 2009. We booked the Suite above the pool as we were told it would be quite at night. The rooms were v ery cramped - bathroom dirty with cigarette ashes, food on couches in the den, ceiling fans were clattery, and floor in the kitchenette was dirty. Very very disappointing. We did complain - and we were given the cottage on Creek Street.
It was very nice. We were told we could still use the pool anytime. We went back to the pool that evening to relax and what we discovered was not the quite relaxed atmosphere we were told to expect. Thank goodness we did not stay in the room above the pool. There was a rock band in the restaurant next door - blaring its' music - we could not even talk. So much for the peaceful B&B on Main Street. I do not recommend this B&B - the cottage is great but there is alot of traffic on Creek Street, the backyard is very run down and weedy but the house was very comfortable. Breakfast was delivered to our door - BUT it was cold - and of course - no cream as we had requested for our coffee. Definitly would never stay there again. Holly in Houston

We had a wonderful weekend in Fredericksburg and couldn't have been happier with Main Street B&B. You can't beat the location, the charm, the breakfast and the pool! A couple of comments in contrast to previous reviewers' comments...The breakfast was one of the highlights of our weekend. Many of the B&Bs have only pastries, so while there may not have been butter for a muffin and we had to ask for real cream for our coffee, the quality was far superior to anything we expected. The first morning we had the best breakfast taco we've had in awhile with homemade tortilla and homemade salsa to die for. It also included hash browns, cup of fruit, peach/cream cheese muffin (for which I would not have wanted butter or jam), and OJ. Next morning was a delicious omlett and similar spread. Coffee in the room was fabulous (the owners now have a coffee shop next door that serves tacos, baked goods and same delicious coffee).

As far as the rooms, we looked around at all of them around check-out time on Sunday. All of the center rooms with windows on the side of the building have been remodeled and all include large jacuzzi tubs. I think only one had a shower head on the wall, but it really wasn't too much of a hassle to use the hand held shower. The hot water was scalding hot enough to cover the jets. No, the tub was not even close to full, but it was plenty deep once you got in the tub. You could also give it a minute or two and then you would have hot water to continue to fill the tub. The rooms facing Main Street or the one on the back toward the pool have not been updated. They all have 2 rooms and are just a little dated. Not luxurious, but not run-down either. My husband and I agreed that we would still pick Main Street B&B if we were sharing one of those units with another couple, simply because of the pool, location, breakfast, and value. I don't know anywhere else on Main Street where you get a pool (essential for 100 degree days this Summer).

As I said before, we will most likely stay here again, assuming a room is available. We really enjoyed being able to walk down Main Street for shopping or eating and not having to worry about parking.

High price - rooms chosen based on the whirlpool tubs (which were needed after days of standing at a convention). Tub was so deep that water was COLD before it reached above the jets (i.e., unusable - hot water heater not large enough to accommodate). Rooms were small, VERY noisy. Only manner to enter was via steep outside stairs (not mentioned in advertisement). No management on duty for getting keys or information. "Gourmet breakfast" consists of cold, plastic-wrapped food dropped at room. Request for partial refund due to lack of whirlpool tub was totally ignored. Not a positive experience, total lack of customer service during and after stay.

Guest before and after did not have any problems with the water heater and each suite has its own so she was the only one using the water. We are located down town Fredericksburg, so music from the popular biergartens may be heard on property. Our office is open everyday, and we have emergency phone numbers listed on our office door and on our phone message. We also live on site at our Inn. Our breakfast is delivered to your suite, not left at your door, so the only way breakfast may cold is if you do not eat it when it is delivered.

When you book a B&B in Fredericksburg Tx you have so many to choose from that you don't have to settle for anything "average".
This B&B is just that, average. We stayed in Suite 202 overlooking Main Street with a shared balcony.
The positive - great location, breakfast brought to your door every morning, great pillows, and located right on main street. Reason, not to return - Had a couple of cleaning issues (left over dishes in microwave, carpet needed vacuumed), generic bottle of hand soap and a community bottle of liquid soap in shower, refrigerator hadn't been defrosted in months, nice muffins for breakfast but no butter or cream cheese, not so much as a bottle water in frig, no hot chocolate or hot teas, only coffee, the decor of the room was below average, etc, etc. If this was one of a few B&B in Fredericksburg you had to choose from then I would go back just because of the location, but it is not. There are too many B&B in town that go the extra mile and put out little extra's that make you feel like you have had the pampered B&B experience. Unfortunately this is not one of them. With a little more effort the owners could make this a place you would walk out of and come back to, but they do not.

We just completely remodeled this suite March 2011 added wood flooring, removed the dated kitchen and added a wet bar with microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker, retiled the bath and added granite counter tops and indivual soaps and shampoos are provided. Both bedrooms have new furnishing including plush mattresess in each bedroom.
