The Stockyards Hotel is, hands down, the best hotel in the Cow Town area. I've stayed here several times, most recently two weeks ago. It is a pricey place on the weekends, but rates are reduced during the week -- which is when I usually go. This time stayed in the very popular Bonnie & Clyde suite, which is a corner room (all the better for keeping a look out for the cops). Great memorabilia, including Bonnie's gun, newspaper articles, etc. . It is not a quiet room -- because you are on the second floor, at the intersection of all the action...but they provide ear plugs, and honestly, why stay here if you aren't willing to hear some cowboys whoopin' it up at midnight? Chain pull toilet and cast iron bathtub.
For $15 they will valet your car overnight which I recommend because you won't need it, everything is in walking distance, and parking is generally a little tough and/or expensive. Staff is friendly, attentive. Linens, etc of good quality. And the place is stuffed with history. Get a drink in the bar and wander around the lobby and landings. Say hi to Will Rogers.
