Before I even unpacked, I heard something dripping in the bathroom. There was water trickling out of the light over the shower. This light had brownish drip stains around it so not the first time this happened. Then in the bedroom, there was a stick on the carpet. Small but noticeable. By the desk I noticed a giant black hairball--the size of a golfball. I called the front desk--mentioned the water trickling from the ceiling light fixture and the crap on the carpet--and asked if I could be switched to another room, they said they were full and this was the only room available. I asked how safe is it to have water running out of a light fixture in the ceiling?! She said she's send engineering up to take a look. click After an hour of not wanting to touch anything in this room, I called back to the front desk again and asked how soon engineering was going to be, I am tired and want to know if I am staying in this room or not. The guy at the front desk asked what was wrong, I said there is water running out of the light fixture over the shower and some stuff on the carpet that was not cleaned up. First he says "Oh sometimes that happens with the AC condenser lines, they get sweaty. And was the carpet just in bad shape or what?" I said it looks like it hasn't been vacuumed in here in quite a while when there is a hairball that big ON the carpet. "Oh I'll send housekeeping up." click Interestingly the drizzle in the shower stopped after that call, and housekeeping showed up a few minutes later. The vacuum was a testament to why the carpet has crap on it. She moved the stick around a bit with the suckless vacuum, used the wand to get the big hairball and the rest of the hair in the bathroom. She left and the stick was still there just moved into the corner now. When I walked over to close the curtains, at the foot of the bed were several toenail clippings on the carpet. I wore my shoes the whole time I was there. It was not the worst place I have stayed, but I will certainly not stay there again. Upon checkout I did mention that the vacuum did nothing but move crap around on the carpet and the room was pretty gross. I was met with a smile, a thank you, and that she would mention this to housekeeping.
