Description: East and West collided in 1852, when Matthew Perry of the USA Steam Navy was assigned to open ports to the west trade. Salt water stained his metal ships black as he made his way to Japan and therefore, the Japanese referred to them as ‘black ships’. The story is brought to life in traditional Japanese, Korean and American dishes.

Went here for lunch. Seated quickly, ordered quickly but took a long time to get our tickets to cash out. Food was very good, and did special touches to make what they do have an original touch and yet still give you some entrees that you recognize from a Japanese restaurant. Was very pleased with our sushi order and our bento boxes. Also had an addition of salted edamame peas.

Food is adequate and pleasant, but nothing fabulous. Wine is not listed by notes and is hard to select. Did not try cocktails. Ordered dumplings and there were two sauces but they both seemed duck sauce based. Asked for something soy sauces based, so they brought soy sauce.

Staff pleasant, interior has some nice nooks.

This little restaurant is located across from the Omni and the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, making it convenient, especially if you are visiting town or attending a convention. The menu includes sushi, sashimi, rolls, bento boxes, and other Korean and Japanese dishes. They have a lengthy drink menu, too, along with a nice outdoor patio on a quiet street. The staff could not have been nicer!

Very stylish restaurant. Great food. Many choices..hot & sour soup best I've had. Sarah was on top of all our needs, refilling drinks, picking up empty plates, etc. Great service.

What I believe is becoming a tradition we had Christmas Eve dinner here for the second year. A very relaxed, pleasant and welcoming restaurant that had quite a few families dining. Excellent sushi rolls and Singapore Style Seafood Noodles. We certainly recommend this restaurant.
