It was with great respect that we visited the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum in College Station, TEXAS, this Saturday last. It a fitting and special tribute to the Bush family for their continuing public service to this Great Country. Politics aside, the Museum presents historical facts and artifacts of what a good, really noble, fiirst Family is all about.

Take a little trip back in history and enjoy this Presidential Library. It was the first one I have ever visited and I will definitely go to any others I have the chance to see. So interesting. Nice grounds too.

They did such a great job with this presidential library. I enjoyed this one more than Reagan's Library in California. At the entrance is a chunk of the Berlin Wall with an inspiring sculpture of mustangs breaking free. The whole library is interesting at every turn. My 10-year-old son really enjoyed it, too.

We were somewhat skeptical about this visit. These presidential “libraries”, while great repositories of presidential documents, represent not so much “libraries” to the general public (though they are libraries for the serious scholars) but rather museums devoted to the particular presidencies. This one in College Station, Texas – a part of the Texas A&M University Campus – fits the pattern. Spending a couple of nice hours in this one, however, dispelled our doubts and misgivings. The exhibits are done in a very informal yet very informative style. The attempt at each stage is to pull the visitor into the personal life story of the senior President Bush and his family and close associates. The historical facts are interwoven nicely with personal anecdotes and notes. In all the exhibits, the curators have attempted not to “awe” the visitor but rather to “involve” the visitor. Many displays have been made interactive, and even somewhat fun and humorous, thereby bringing the presidency within reach of common citizens and visitors. The Bush Library/Museum building is also housed in a very impressive structure, set in nicely landscaped grounds. The front hall of the museum is devoted to special exhibits, and when we visited
