We used to stay here 25 yrs. ago, when our children were growing up and we would take trips to Canyon Lake to water ski with family friends. Had an opportunity to return to the area recently and decided to stay here. Honestly, I do not think they have updated one single thing. Rooms are very much in need of updating. The price (in February) was reasonable, it was a large room with lots of sleeping space (2 double beds and a set of bunks), there was a mini-fridge in the room, and it's super convenient to walk down to the boat ramp and lake, (plenty of room to park your vehicle and boat trailer--easy in & out), etc. It was quiet, peaceful, we saw lots of deer (very friendly), and truly do have fond memories of Turkey Cove, but the owners need to show this place a little love--actually, it needs a lot of love. It could easily be a Tx. Hill Country gem but, as is, just seems old and tired.

Room Tip: Different rooms have different advantages--top floors have better views--some have full kitchens (but provisions seemed sparse)

Wife and I checked in on a Friday and had a King size room reserved.
I assume the owner checked us in, and was very informative and helpful.
We got to the room and it was hot. Oh no! But a tweaking of the A/C it cooled down and was comfortable.
Mind, you if you are looking for a luxurious pampered stay, then find a chain hotel, because this isn't the place.
The shower/tub faucet was kind of a challenge, but we figured out how to keep the water from running when not in use.
Room was clean for the age, and the bed was not uncomfortable. TV had a good picture, and the refrigerator was cold.
We had a decent view of the lake, and the grounds were set up for a good cookout.
It was quiet, and basically overall relaxing.
Upon checkout Sunday morning, we did the room sweep to see if anything was left behind.
We lifted the bed skirt to make sure nothing was left behind, and whoa!
We discovered a few Oreo cookies under the bed, which by the way we did not consume. And then there was a ladies undergarment under the bed, also. Have no idea who was the rightful owner. I hope they didn't get in trouble.

My wife and I booked this lodge to attend a concert nearby. The concert was cancelled but we decided to come anyway. The staff was nice enough to call us ahead of time to make sure we were still coming. We showed up to a ghost town. No one at the lodge, visitors or staff. There was a little red phone to call but no one answered that. We called the number that contacted us the day before. After a few minutes, she called back to tell us our room key was in the drop box.

The rooms were clean. Overall, the place is a little old, but well kept. It was gloomy but we enjoyed the peace and solitude. There were a few other patrons there, and deer everywhere!

This place had a great view of the lake. It was quiet. The water pressure and temperature of the shower were great. The price was reasonable. This place was listed under "bed and breakfast" so that is what I was expecting. It was not. The room was out dated. It smelled of mold. The AC ran but it was loud and it didn't cool off the room on low and when we put it on high we froze.and then it froze up and would not run at all. The pillows and bed were uncomfortable. There were not enough blankets. The sheets, pillows and comforter smelled like smoke. When the AC was off the room smelled of smoke and mold. There were no restaurants around for breakfast.

It was comfortable an clean. The lake is beautiful (once it's morning and you see it :) We went on a Tuesday, being the only guests and I felt like I was in The Shining. The room is well equipped and the beds comfortable.
