Gaia is such a wonderful gem hidden in the mountains of Belize! Beware:: it’s a place for people who can withstand traveling long distances on dirt roads, enjoy adventure, being disconnected from the world, can deal with no AC, enjoy local foods and drinks, be waited on hand and foot by the most genuine staff! :) :)
The entire process of booking was so painless! Everything mentioned on the package was spot on!
We enjoyed our time with Isael, who probably the most knowledgeable tour guide we have ever had on a trip. Highly recommend him for ANY tour you take with Gaia!
Our package included all the musts and the homemade food from the gardens on site were delicious! The waiting staff, Elwin & Derby, were so great! We gained so many memories and enjoyed our time at this resort! Recommend to anyone who has similar interests and enjoys an adventure!

Gaia Riverlodge was breathtaking and stunning from the views, to the amazing rooms, great food and amazing/friendly staff. We enjoyed biking to the waterfall, doing the nature hike, and relaxing while listening to the waterfall. The grounds of Gaia was just beautiful and well maintained. We did a tour to the Xunantunich ruins and was blown away from the beauty and history. Our tour guide, Calbert, was amazing and made this trip more memorable. We definitely recommend visiting Belize and staying at Gaia!

I live in Belize and this is one of my favourite spots to go and chill and relax. The hotel is fantastic and being by the river and the waterfall is a truly unique experience. You can spend hours by the waterfall on the sun loungers and just unwind. Food is great too. Staff have always been helpful and care for your needs, for example I walked up from the waterfall and was hot and out of breath, a waiter came with a glass of cold water for me. How refreshing to feel that you are being cared for. Thank you Gaia for a lovely break.

The setting for Gaia Riverlodge is spectacular. It is set in a wonderful remote part of a pine forest overlooking waterfalls which form the natural “pool” area which is accessed by a vernacular or steps. Hammocks, sun-beds and shaded areas provide a perfect setting to relax and enjoy the beauty around the waterfalls.
Our individual Cabanas were lovely and clean plus I slept in the most comfortable bed ever!
The food was average a bit “hit and miss” but the service from everyone in the hotel is excellent and friendly . England were playing in the 1/4 finals of the World Cup and a laptop was arranged especially for us to be able to watch the game - this was much appreciated especially as we won!
The mountain bikes and helmets provided by the hotel , were in very good clean condition for our cycle trips to “ Big Rock” waterfall. Be prepared when you get there for quite a hike down but worth doing and my teenage daughters loved this waterfall ( I preferred the Five Sisters). I loved Gaia and recommend this place for adults or families with older teenagers.

Loved the place. My wife and i now measure the other hotels in terms of Gaia. Great cabanas, impeccable staff, good restaurant and great tour guides (definitely recommend private tours). The hotel is inside the national park and is kinda hard to get to if you are driving yourself. Beware in the rain the road through the park may get a bit rough.

The waterfalls and the beach area around them is very relaxing and enjoyable.
the view is amazing as well.
All cabanas are secluded and covered with vegetation from the sight of other hotel patrons.
