What a surprise... a beautiful campus in a fantastic setting in the middle of no where... The Episcopal Church really had a vision when they created this campus before the civil war. Many unusual opportunities to see and learn.

Serene campus which consciously models itself on the British concept.

“Like a trip to Oxford, England.”

A classy country college with great atmosphere. Not much to do, and not many good restaruants, but nice mountain scenery.

“Oxford in America”
Reviewed 29 January 2012

Being on "the Mointain" and on the "Domain" is an experience that is worth the drive from Nashville or Chattanooga. Sewanee gets into the blood and stays there. An episcopal haven and liberal arts college where the top students and faculty still wear academic gowns, sewanee is a throwback with all that is great about the south. Formality survives, yet people are informal and friendly. 10000 acres of open space, hiking trails, and an oxfordian atmosphere make this one of my favorite spots in the south. If you can experience the winter fog, enjoily it's mystique!
