A buddy and I were going to Oak Ridge for a 3-day Jeep jamboree with our daughters and wanted a nice place to stay that was kid-friendly. After finding all the campgrounds full, we were referred to the Windmill Inn Bed and Breakfast. From my very first call to the Inn, the owners were incredibly nice and easy to work with. We spent four nights there and our kids loved it! Their prices were lower than the area hotels and their Inn offered more amenities. The whole Inn has been remodeled and the rooms are phenomenal.
The best part of our stay was the hospitality offered by the owners, John and Brenda. Our breakfast was made to order and always ready in time for us to maintain our schedules for the day. On our last night, we made plans to leave at 5 am the following morning. John and Brenda were up at 4:15 am making chocolate chip pancakes for our kids and eggs and sausage for my buddy and I. John has a workshop on site and was so helpful when we needed tools to work on the jeeps or a place to store jeep doors and such.
As soon as I got home, I spoke with my wife and we are planning to return to the Windmill Inn in July for four more days. It is a 12 hour drive from our home but their location is perfect for ATV riders, motorcycle enthusiasts, and 4x4 owners. Close to Coal Creek OHV and 45 minutes from Royal Blue and Sundquist.
If you need a place to stay for a jeeping trip or an atv trip to Coal Creek, this is where you need to be. Plenty of parking, knowledgeable hosts, and an awesome place to hang-out!!!! Thanks a million John and Brenda, I wish you great success with the Windmill Inn!!!
