Monell's is an eatery housed in an old plantation house. The meals are served family style, so you get to make new friends while you eat. There is a never ending supply of Southern favorites such as fried chicken, spare ribs, pot roast, corn bread, bowls of veggies, pitchers of iced tea and fruit punch. Everything is fresh and home-made. You take what you want and pass the bowl to your neighbor- just like at home.
The food was excellent, and the price for what you get is extremely reasonable.
The place is housed in an old Southern mansion which is absolutely gorgeous. If you go take the time to go explore the second floor. There are rooms set up for private parties with all the antique furniture and Southern charm one would expect in Tennessee.
Don't forget your camera, you will want to take some pictures.
Take note if you want to go on Sunday they do close early, so you'll be going for brunch/late lunch, not dinner.
