“Good Value”
Reviewed 15 January 2012

Good value for my money, I stayed two nights on two different days last week, 1st floor room was a little musty but the second floor room was much better, looked and smelled cleaner. I recommend a room off the 1st floor based on my experience

Room Tip: don't use room 121, it smelled musty

I stayed here to get my son to the airport for an early morning flight. I am a frequent Marriott traveler and this is an exceptional property.

Stayed here with my husband while in town for the Music City Bowl at LP Field. The location is great, just a 10 minute drive to downtown, right off I-40 on the east side of town. Front desk staff accommodated our request for early check-in when we arrived around 1:30. I had called ahead to request this, but they said that didn't really matter, so I guess we just got lucky.

Room was clean and spacious. Really like that the sink area is separate from the rest of the bathroom, this really helps 2 people getting ready who are used to their own space! As you would expect with a suite, it has a nice sitting area, microwave, fridge, and desk area. Free wifi was easy to access. Housekeeping was fine, as with every place I stay we asked for extra washcloths and the evening front desk attendant was very friendly and helpful with this.

Major complaint was the breakfast area. Can't really blame the hotel for the crowd, but both mornings we stayed it was so, so crowded. Note to management, you could make things so much better by separating it out into stations and moving the waffle area over to the other side of the room so it doesn't create such a pile-up at the waffle area. Also can't blame the hotel for the rudeness of other guests, but I swear there was one family monopolizing the waffle makers the entire time we were there with their kids crowded all around it. As for the food, the warm food (eggs and sausage) was just not good. The rest, (muffins, juice, bagels, cereal) was fine and a decent selection. Bottom line, it is your classic free breakfast, don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed.

This is the second Springhill for us, and we would not hesitate to stay here or at another one again. No wow factor, but no major gripes either.

Our 91 year old mother wanted to see the Christmas lights at the Gaylord Hotel; therefore a trip to Nashville we took. The hotel was in a quiet location with breakfast and parking included. Breakfast included a tasty variety of items hot and cold. The front desk clerks and breakfast attendant were all very friendly and helpful. Nice indoor pool, affordable rates, and quiet location. Rooms were clean but do need to be updated. Carpet worn and needs to be replaced and the furniture has a lot of dings and nicks, but the beds are very comfortable. Would have preferred a second TV in the room. The TV is located between the sitting room and bedroom; it did rotate but was not easily seen from the whole suite. Fitness center small but had quality equipment.

We spent one cold December night here awaiting the continuation of our travels from BNA the following morning. The airport shuttle services four or five Marriotts near the airport so the wait can be anywhere from 15-30 minutes. The shuttle driver was exceptionally cordial and gave us a brief tour of the area en route to the hotel. There are several chain restaurants within walking distance to the hotel but because there are no sidewalks it can be a bit precarious walking the couple of blocks in total darkness if one does not have a car. Arriving around 6:00 PM at the hotel, we were hungry but settled for chili and baked potatoes at the nearby Wendy's.

Our room at the Springhill was satisfactory in light of the $70 we paid, although there were some very bad stains on the carpet as well as some worn out furniture. The heating system was excellent and the bed was quite comfortable. Sunday morning breakfast was not served until 7:00 PM which was fine with us, but I know many people would want to start their Sundays much earlier. No newspapers were delivered to the door on weekends nor could one purchase one from a hotel vending machine. I enjoy reading the Sunday morning paper so this was a bit of a problem for me. I don't like having to hear CNN blaring in the breakfast room. Breakfast was ample and there was an excellent variety of hot and cold choices. The servers were pleasant and courteous.

This is an average hotel for the businessperson or traveler just passing through the city en route to another destination. Most travelers would want to rule it out for any type of long term stay. The ladies behind the counter at the front desk were consistently friendly and helpful - nice job gals!

Room Tip: Stay in a room on a high floor and far from the bank of elevators.
