“Good old fashioned pub.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 December 2011

We had a big room on the first floor. The bathroom was modern, the bed comfortable and the decking around the first floor is beautiful. The pub was friendly and in the centre of town.

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 August 2011

We stayed here twice during the month of August - once as a couple, & once with the kids. We used it as a base for a trip to the snow (Mt Hotham). Perfect for our purpose... Clean & tidy rooms, great brekkie included in price. Hotel is old & in need of a little TLC, but full of character, & the friendly staff more than make up for that. Only downer was the very thin walls (we were in a balcony room both stays & you can hear EVERYTHING from surrounding rooms).

Room Tip: Ask for a room with modern reverse cycle aircon - some only have older heaters

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2011

I stayed in a room on the ground floor, door opened out onto the footpath almost with road close by. Midweek is pretty quiet in this little town, but I think the downstairs rooms would be noisy on weekends. Room was clean, warm and shower hot, TV worked and the beds had electric blankets. The bar stools were too low and there were no couches to sit on to have a drink. The evening meal was of a good standard for a pub and breakfast was basic but cooked to order. No brewed coffee or fresh fruit. I think if your passing through its a good spot to stay Nice bakery and ski hire opposite. I would have liked to see the more expensive rooms upstairs, maybe next time.
Free internet is available at the local library just down the road.

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 May 2009

Stayed here for 1 night, first floor room was very large compared to regular motel size rooms. Entry to room was from a large covered balcony which had good views of main street, town and surrounding hills. Large off street parking allows easy access to rooms. My room was directly above the bar which meant music and general bar noise till about 10.30-11pm. Whilst this did not bother me to any major degree this may be a disturbance for others using the room (#5). Cooked breakfast was included in the accommodation price and was of good standard. Also guest access to free basic access internet. Overall a good place to stay in Omeo, with some nice little personal touches, although perhaps request a room further away from the bar.
