A group of us from Sydney and Melbourne visited Olinda last week and found this magnificent tea house when we were looking for an afternoon tea venue. I wish we'd arrived earlier in the day and been able to eat breakfast and lunch here too. It is a lovely, tastefully decorated cafe with a beautiful Japanese garden and a very tempting menu. The attentive friendly staff were so welcoming.

Apparently the venue has only re-opened recently after a lengthy closure. We don't know the details, but were very happy to experience their warm hospitality last week. We would definitely go back!

Well, I'd never heard of this place until I attended a wedding in October 2015. The place is large - easy hold 100 people for a little wedding and the grounds are beautiful.
The food was aussie with an asian influence and was amazing. The chef really knows his job. The staff were very friendly, polite and smiling always. Overall, excellent. I'll be going back up for lunch and then stroll around tge Dandenong ranges.

This has been closed for more than 12 months and no longer serving meals. Was good so do not know what happened. It needs to be removed from the reviews unless it reopens in the future. If so, it can go back on the reviews.

Beautiful tranquil surroundings. We were here for High Tea on Saturday. The food was a high quality and with generous portions.Real cream, real scones. A lovely selection of sandwiches and a vegetarian pick. If any criticism, I'd like a couple more savouries and forfeit a couple of sweets- but that's my taste. The presentation of the first course was unique- served in miniature glasses, a lettuce and crouton salad, pumpkin soup and a fruit cup with yoghurt. Two drinks included. I'd do this again and again

The Olinda Tea House is opened once a month for high tea and it is best you check their website on opening days and make a reservation before making your way up the Dandenong Ranges to the beautiful hideout.

We were happy to be able to make a reservation for our family. The tea house is beautifully designed and offer a serene vicinity for us to enjoy the high tea up in the ranges. You can drop by the tea house before the puffing billy ride or just take a day trip out from Melbourne.
