My sons first snow trip and he loved it. The toboggan runs are great for all the family. The cafe is reasonably priced and the staff were all friendly.

Lake Mountain is a great place for families who want to have fun and ski at a beginner's to lower intermediate level. Relatively affordable. Close to Melbourne. Great staff.

If you get car sick, prepare sick bags. The roads getting here are easy to drive, but it is a bit of a winding road. They make sure that roads are clear of ice and safe to drive, so no 4WD needed. Watch out for speedy drivers (they do have vehicle turnouts at some spots to let faster cars through), and watch out for wildlife, otherwise, enjoy the fresh mountain air, fantastic view of trees, valley, and country roads.

$56 per car entrance fee, so make the most out of the day. There is ample parking space, but if it is busy, there are more parking spaces in the lower parts of the resort where you can catch the free shuttle bus to the top.

Loads of activities for the young and young-at-heart, but will definitely keep kids busy and happy. Food is overly priced but nothing special, and if the resort is packed, you’ll be fighting for tables inside anyway and waiting in line for over half an hour to get food..so best to bring your own food and have a picnic on the picnic tables outside.

We went to see snow, and weren’t disappointed. Flying fox, tube runs, tobogganing, cross country skiing are some of the activities. The leader run slope was our personal favorite for tobogganing and knee boarding. The snow is really great for making snowmen, and of course, snowball fights. Everyone will be tired by the end of the day, and everyone would have had fun. Just make sure you catch the last bus to the lower carparks by 5pm.

They have different activities during green season, and we wouldn’t mind trying it another time.

Visited with 3 little ones 6/4/2.
.
Travel there is not too far from Melbourne so good for little ones.
The mountain is not too steep it is generally an easy drive.
.
Pricing is fair.
.
It is a small mountain with only 2 buildings in the snow area. It is a very simple and small resort so no getting lost. I took the kids tobogganing as their initial experience to going down snow. The run is a very gentle slope so they were not scared going down on their own and returning to the top was easy.
.
The rest of the day they just wanted to play in the snow.
.
Pretty fun day for kids and relaxing for Mum.
.
Food, as in any Alpine resort is quite pricey with long lines. We brought lunch so we could play longer at the snow and bought some hot stuff to warm us up.
.
Only 25min drive from Marysville town centre. Only one road into the mountain so no getting lost.
.
TIP: Marysville caravan park is just at the start of the stretch to lake mountain. Good easy accommodation for kids that's not bad on the hip pocket and has heaps to do there.
