Reviewed 5 April 2018

We booked to stay at the Inverloch Big4 back in Easter 2017 so needless to say, we were super excited to finally get there in 2018! Review below.

Pro's
- Facilities for kids are excellent. Kids young and old enjoyed the indoor heated pool, the indoor water park, the playground, basketball and tennis courts and jumping pillow. The kids had so much fun playing on all of these
- Showers were awesome! Powerful water pressure was fantastic and although there were only 5 showers in the toilet block near us, I never had to wait to use a shower the whole time I was there. You just have to pick a good time to go
- The beach is a short walk/bike ride away and is good for swimming, fishing or even rafting etc
- There are lots of toilets as well as a laundry and camp kitchen with lots of tables inside
- The entire place is very secure so no worries about little kids escaping. Adults have to wear a blue wrist band to open gates and doors to the pool etc and kids wear a red one (think more to identify that they're staying there more than anything as the general public can also use the facilities)
- The front office sells ice, ice creams etc which is handy so you don't have to leave the camp site for these
- We found it to be very quiet at night (apart from the odd complaint as per later in the review) and they have a strict no noise policy beyond 10pm. One of the first nights we were playing music softly and a staff member who was doing the rounds at 10pm came past and asked us to turn the music off

Con's
- My biggest complaint is there is only one camp kitchen for the entire place. Worse still, it is right at the front of the Big4 so you can imagine the annoyance of having to walk all the way down there with dirty dishes for 15 people every meal time when we were positioned on a site at the back! They desperately need another camp kitchen towards the rear so people don't have to walk there and back with arm fulls of dishes after every meal time!!
- There were BBQs in a few locations but again, more at the back would be useful
- As we went over Easter, the place was packed. There were also a large numbers of camper vans and as we were camping in tents, we felt claustrophobic being surrounded by them! Didn't seem to be that many people camping in tents like us
- Again being Easter, the place was super busy and filled with lots of families.During the day if you're trying to drive in and out, there are so many kids darting across the road so you really need to drive very slowly!
- There is only one way to get out of the BIg4 and that is at the front, through the locked boom gates. While this is a great safety feature, it also means remembering and entering a pin code at the boom gate every time you have to go out and again when you're coming in.
- You can only have one car inside. We camped with 2 other families and a third family had a small cabin. They took 2 cars as one parent arrived later separately. He got to the front gate and couldn't get in using the pin code. Upon enquiry, they discovered you could only park one car inside per pin code so he had to find a car park on the street and leave his car there.
- We found camping in a tent a bit noisy at times, particularly when the sites themselves weren't all that big and we were surrounded by camper vans. People arrived at all hours and we were woken up by them setting up which was annoying
- We have stayed at lots of other camp sites where you can pick up your fishing rod and walk a short distance to the beach to cast your line. You can't do that here as there is only one way out and that's at the front through the boom gates. You really have to drive or be prepared for a bit of a walk to the beach
- The amount of wasps flying around was crazy! One of the times we tried to fish across the road we lasted all of 5 minutes as the wasps were going into the bag that had bait in it and flying near our hands. My husband is allergic to wasps so he was freaking out the whole time. Also be careful leaving food and drinks around as this was attracting them also
- The indoor water park is not heated and given that it wasn't really hot, the kids hardly used it. And the water park was one of the big things that sold us on staying here!

So after waiting a year to camp here I have to say we weren't that impressed. This place is good for people who want to make use of the kids facilities which are good but given the drama walking to the camp kitchen, the feeling of claustrophobic and the tons or people there over Easter, we didn't enjoy it as much as we'd hoped. Needless to say, we won't be coming back.

Thank you Analia for taking the time to post your comprehensive review. We pride ourselves on offering a safe, family friendly, seaside holiday for guests with friendly service which is why so many of our guests keep coming back to stay year after year. However, we know that we can't please everyone and are sorry that you won't be back despite your very positive list of 'pros'. We would like to take this opportunity to address your list of 'cons':
There is a new camp kitchen planned for this year to service all the new sites up the back of the park
- Same with bbqs
- The Easter weekend is fully booked so yes, it is busy
- It is by design that there is only one entrance to the park. As you acknowledged, we are very secure and take security very seriously which ensures our guests can relax and enjoy peace of mind
- Because our park is busy, our policy is 'one car entry per site'. If everyone was allowed a second car it would be even more busy with less space
- You may be interested to know that our sites are bigger than average. A third of them are 10 metres by 7.5 metres, the rest are significantly bigger, up to 18 metres deep
- Unfortunately, wasps are out of our control, particularly on the beach. There are no nests in our park because our pest controller checks regularly. Wasps are a statewide problem and we appreciate how annoying they are but they are probably a problem for the CSIRO.
- The water park is most definitely heated. The water is always between 28 – 30 degrees celsius. The heater did fail on Thursday 5th April which was extremely unusual but was fixed on the same day and we apologise for any inconvenience.

As our first family camping trip we were so happy to stumble across this park. Good sized sites and well serviced with playground, amazing waterpark, pool and jumping pillow. This park was a great distance to the beach and short walk into town. The staff were friendly and approachable. The one thing I felt was in need of attention was the female toilets. Very old, quite dated and according to the maintenance checklist on the wall, did any appear to be cleaned at all on Easter Monday. That was a bit offputting given how busy the park was and how many people would be using those three toilets. Hopefully an upgrade is on the cards as I'd love to return and feel as though my $98 per night for a powered site was getting me access to a modern, clean amenities block.

Hi bexasta thank you for taking your time to post your review and for your positive feedback. We apologise for any misunderstanding about the cleaning. The cleaning register is a relatively new concept suggested by one of our team and unfortunately the cleaner simply forgot to sign it on Easter Monday. However, may we assure you that our amenities are cleaned twice every day during the busy Easter season, in the morning and again in the afternoon, and they were definitely cleaned twice on Easter Monday. If ever there are any concerns, we always encourage our guests to advise us at Reception so we can rectify any issues immediately. We are delighted that you and your family experienced a happy stay with us and enjoyed our family friendly facilities and magic location. We look forward to warmly welcoming you all back another time.

Recently stayed at this park, as we have a number of times over the years, and it is a clean and well run park. The staff are most pleasant and always helpful. As our stay was midweek, and out of holiday season, it was very peaceful. Congratulations to all concerned in running this park.

Stayed in the superior villa as we did last year and once again enjoyed our stay. Park amenities are second to none. The villa is magnificent just like a luxury hotel. Our family brought their caravan and stayed at an ensuite site as they have done for last 3 years. The park is spotless all the time and the staff are wonderful. See you next Feb. Jen & Roger Austin
