Description: Come and visit us at our home in Healesville (we call it IBHQ) for delicious wine, local produce, artisan pizza and tasty paella, or enjoy a non-wine option such as our real cider, local beers and spirits and great coffee. It’s an urban cellar door, restaurant, bar and your home away from home, so swing by relax and enjoy. We think our wines are best enjoyed with good company and great food, so we crafted our menu with sharing in mind. Created using fresh local Yarra Valley ingredients and inspired by classic dishes we love, our food matches our wines – delicious!

We visited today, no booking but able to get a table without a problem. Our pizza (Spicy pork, red peppers and chilli) was perfect….thank you.
Service great, don’t like unisex toilets (I’m female) and don’t like stepping in you know what! Otherwise great and we will be back soon.

Loved the pizzas there. Has a good range of fresh wine and beer on tap. The prawn and prosciutto pizzas are to die for. A five star restaurant but a bit of a drive to get out here. Must visit. Hope you can get a booking.

After making a last minute bookin g for four for Sunday - I had my niece join me for the day - it was unexpected and yes from a
Split families and without notice and without …
Giving a whole lot of background that you are not going to care about ….the end story is … we had an extra seat .. and a baby/ toddler who was not going to actually sit and sit on my lap - this was made into a huge deal and resulted in us leaving and having no secure plans to lunch -
Was this inconvenience to you such a big deal ?… was it not something g you could over come - I work In the health sector and to me this actually seems ludicrous ..
that you can’t accomodate one extra person at a table for lunch
Sometimes it takes a lot to organise a family lunch due to circumstances and this was a special Sunday lunch that was made absolutely a big deal and didn’t need to be - asking us to get take away and sit at a park or outside at then back of the restaurant!!! It was freezing and raining- is this even an appropriate request or response - you might as well laughed in our faces - we are not locals and we drove over an hour to get there . We had small children and schedules to work around just like you .:. Beyond disappointed and now amused at your lack understanding , hospitality and obvious thought that you are better than the average family ..: I will not be letting this go unnoticed -
Thanks for not being accomodating your neighbours were more than hospitable !

I can understand a special day which brings in the crowd places the kitchen under extra pressure. But that is no excuse for dropping standards.
Pizzas were delivered luke warm less than 5 minutes after our order was taken. Obviously not freshly made. Toppings were very mean and lean. Staff very anxious to keep us moving and then out for a quick turnover.
Altogether a very disappointing experience, will not go back.

Hey John,

Thank you for coming to Innocent Bystander and providing us with some feedback on your recent experience with us.

We had an overwhelming response of great reviews on Mother's Day so we were shocked to hear you had an unpleasant time.

All our pizzas are made fresh to order, hand-stretched, and cooked through in our wood-fired pizza oven.

We apologise that you felt our staff were rushing your group, we always aim to provide the best service possible.

We hope this one disappointing experience won't keep you away, come back again soon.

Cheers, IB

Four of us went to this place on a Sunday night and had to book as it was popular. The staff were great (I forgot to bring my mask and they supplied one without any issues) and service was bubbly and friendly. The glasses of Prosecco were praised by the two who had them and the my friend and I really enjoyed the tasting flights made up of pinot gris, arneis and rose. My special pizza was delicious, but the other three shared the pizza special and a paella mixta and were disappointed. They felt that both dishes were were bland and could have used some spices or chillis. My coffee to finish was ok, while the two that had affogatos felt they were nicely prepared and delicious to drink.
