Loved the pizzas there. Has a good range of fresh wine and beer on tap. The prawn and prosciutto pizzas are to die for. A five star restaurant but a bit of a drive to get out here. Must visit. Hope you can get a booking.

Giving a whole lot of background that you are not going to care about ….the end story is … we had an extra seat .. and a baby/ toddler who was not going to actually sit and sit on my lap - this was made into a huge deal and resulted in us leaving and having no secure plans to lunch -
Was this inconvenience to you such a big deal ?… was it not something g you could over come - I work In the health sector and to me this actually seems ludicrous ..

Sometimes it takes a lot to organise a family lunch due to circumstances and this was a special Sunday lunch that was made absolutely a big deal and didn’t need to be - asking us to get take away and sit at a park or outside at then back of the restaurant!!! It was freezing and raining- is this even an appropriate request or response - you might as well laughed in our faces - we are not locals and we drove over an hour to get there . We had small children and schedules to work around just like you .:. Beyond disappointed and now amused at your lack understanding , hospitality and obvious thought that you are better than the average family ..: I will not be letting this go unnoticed -

I can understand a special day which brings in the crowd places the kitchen under extra pressure. But that is no excuse for dropping standards.
Pizzas were delivered luke warm less than 5 minutes after our order was taken. Obviously not freshly made. Toppings were very mean and lean. Staff very anxious to keep us moving and then out for a quick turnover.
Altogether a very disappointing experience, will not go back.

Four of us went to this place on a Sunday night and had to book as it was popular. The staff were great (I forgot to bring my mask and they supplied one without any issues) and service was bubbly and friendly. The glasses of Prosecco were praised by the two who had them and the my friend and I really enjoyed the tasting flights made up of pinot gris, arneis and rose. My special pizza was delicious, but the other three shared the pizza special and a paella mixta and were disappointed. They felt that both dishes were were bland and could have used some spices or chillis. My coffee to finish was ok, while the two that had affogatos felt they were nicely prepared and delicious to drink.

It has been years since I have been to Innocent Bystander & now sadly, I won’t be rushing back.
My friend & I started with the wine tasting ($10 pp which is no problem at all) - the wines were ok but didn’t really say much to us. We then moved to the restaurant for some dinner - nice starter of charred asparagus followed by an ok Paella & pizza - nothing to rave about. But major disappointment was the same bottle of wine to buy at the tastings was now $10 dearer because I was sitting in the restaurant. I understand paying that extra $10 if you walk in off the street but to have paid $10 ea for tastings & now another $10 for the bottle of ‘ok’ wine - sorry but you have lost me. I questioned this with our waiter & he was embarrassed to admit this is the correct charge. We all know the hospitality trade has been hit hard over the Covid times but to go to another venue only a few doors up the road charging way less for amazing food & tasting costs being deducted from wine purchases at the end of the fare, I do hope Innocent Bystander consider reassessing how to charge customers who are keen to learn about their whole experience.
