“Well worth the wait!”

A friends gift voucher from three years ago finally used to celebrate a significant anniversary.
A beautiful winter weekend, arriving on our motorbike.
We love the location. Were welcomed to our self contained Sharman suite which was warm, cosy with huge picture windows.
Evening meal set in a warm relaxing spacious dining room, food locally sourced well presented and staff friendly. A good mix of fellow diners.
As we enjoyed our breakfast, thoughtfully provided in our room, we had a superb view of mist hanging in the valley below.
We felt very spoilt. Thank you.

My husband, our 4 month old baby and I stayed here whilst attending a wedding at the property as we felt it would make attending the wedding with a small baby easier if we had somewhere to escape to if she was unsettled. On first impressions the property is in a gorgeous setting with amazing views and attached to a stylish restaurant. Our room, the Tsar room was compact, but well furnished and had a spectacular view from the balcony. Being a small room though it was extremely hot on a 34 degree day and we couldn't find the remote control for the airconditioner. We visited reception to advise this and they sent someone around who promised to come back with a remote. An hour later we were still waiting and it was time to go to the wedding. I finally managed to track the manager down later in the night at the wedding reception and he found one straight away.
Whilst the spa bath was a lovely romantic touch to the room, the shower over it was awful and water just went everywhere, they need a more practical shower head. Also the breakfast (toast, preserves and fresh fruit), whilst sourced from local produce, was disappointing and didn't feel fresh as it had been put in the fridge the day before.
Mt Rael is an absolutely stunning place for a wedding and the food at the reception was fantastic, couldn't fault a thing. However in terms of accommodation we didn't feel that the room and breakfast was worth the $280 a night we paid (apparently tariffs have gone up since our stay) and have stayed in nicer places for around the same price.

my husband and i recently stayed at Mt Rael in the picturesque yarra valley. The steep, long driveway rewarded us with the most spectacular views we have encountered in this region. We were escorted to our suite by a friendly staff member who was very supportive in suggesting other local attractions for us to visit.Although compact our suite was streamlined and modern, certainly not a generic style hotel room for which we were well pleased! Upon checking out the next day we inquired about the origin of the property and learnt that once upon a time it was a private residence and nursery that recently had a complete refurbishment. The restaurant also served a great cooked breakfast. My only gripe would be that the driveway needed to be sealed as it was a bumpy trip! Overall definitely worth a stay if you enjoy spectacular views and boutique and somewhat unique accomodation!

Stayed on a warm night accompanied by an amazing full moon gracing the sky all from the Sharman suite balcony.

I heard the property was recently renovated a few months ago... It certainly was. The room had very stylish furniture and seemed very clean and refreshed.

We had an amazing dinner in the property's restaurant. Out on the balcony with great local wines, well recommended by our waitress. The food was devine...each course complemented the next very well.

The property's grounds are beautiful... We are certainly coming back, already organizing a corporate function later in the year. The lounge area and double sided fire place in the restaurant are a perfect setting!
