We arrived on a stormy and wet Saturday late afternoon, without a reservation and the town pretty much booked out. There was a friendly welcome and we enjoyed sharing a spacious and comfortable room with heavenly beds and bedding! Although we could not spend time outside due to the weather, we noticed the quiet setting at the foot of a mountain, with a little lake, playground and traces of wildlife, mainly ducks!

Room tip: Rooms out the back are quieter, while courtyard rooms facing out the back have better views.

Been here many times (10+) over a number of years. Good location within walking distance of town and restaurants. Decor bit dated but room and bathroom good size. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Have decommissioned the spas which were great after a long days walk in the mountain.
Very clean
Still recommend to travellers. Have stayed at two other places in Halls Gap and still prefer the Comfort Inn

No free wifi - maybe a decade ago but not now. This motel is still in the 90's. Outdated decor and furnishings , no cable only very limited local stations . Bed comfortable room large but motel needs to update into this century especially for $175 a night

Had a night stay in a family room. Bed was comfortable but room was very dated. For a family room I would have thought there would be a lounge to sit on so it wasn't very cosy sitting in the main room talking at the end of the evening. The swimming pool was freezing much to the disgust of my son who attempted to have a swim but couldn't fully submerge due to the freezing water. Pool furniture was very dated too (and in need of a clean). The games room desperately needs some updated games for the kids and unfortunately you couldn't even hold the pool cue properly due to the lack of room.

Had one night at the Comfort Inn as part of a 6 day driving holiday. Arrived on a Saturday afternoon around 3.00 pm. When my wife collected key for room from reception, she asked if we could book a table in hotel restaurant, but was informed it was fully booked (several bus tours in) which wasn't an issue for us but when she asked if there was other eateries in Halls Gap, the receptionist said we might like to try the pub down the road.In fact, as we discovered, there were several eateries within a klm away and it surprised us that she didn't bother to mention any of those. Our room was a bit dated looking but generous in size including the King size bed! Everything was clean and comfortable. TV reception was on the blink but no fault of establishment. Overall, we would probably do a bit more homework next time and see what else was available in the area because as we drove out of Halls Gap towards in a Melbourne direction we were surprised at how many other motels and even another rather large looking pub existed within the Halls Gap vicinity.
