it was a nice easy 40 minute, 2.5 kms walk along both sides of the creek. kids along with their adult supervision should handle this without to many complaints.

The centre gives a clear explanation of the way indigenous people live and used to live. It also explains what happend when Europeans came and how things changed.
Since I read so many good things about Brambuk, I was very excited to go there. I wanted to do the walk, the Boomerang painting - in short : everything.
Helas, we couldn’t. Why? Because there was nobody to help us. Also we saw a sign that said that they only accepted EFTPOS payments which would have been impossible for foreigners like us.
Still, we decided to wait and maybe … maybe they will accept cash payments. But since nobody showed up after more than 30 minutes, we decided to leave - very disappointed.
Thankyou for your review.
Please accept our apologies for the lack of service you received.
I would assume you visited over a weekend when unfortunately at times we have limited staff available.
The staff member on should of left an indication that they would not be available at that time.
The use of EFTPOS in the cultural centre is a general rule, but we can make exceptions, and as well you can pay cash for any of our activities on site at our main information desk.
We hope you were able to enjoy the free access to our facilities, displays and grounds to learn a little more about our people and country, despite the inconvenience.

Brambuk Management
As a foreigner, I was keen to learn more about aboriginal history and communities in the Grampians region ; however, it is barely an exaggeration to say that after my visit to the Brambuk centre, the only thing I have learnt is the meaning of the word "Brambuk"... Regrettably, there are mostly a few pictures of people but information panels say very few things about the community history and practices or even the more recent issues of aboriginal assimilation. It was really a disappointment. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to visit another centre in Ballarat which is truly informative and that I recommend (on Main rd, very near Sovereign Hill).
Thankyou for your review.
It is unfortunate you weren't totally satisfied with your visit to our centre.
The information you describe as missing is definitely here and spread throughout our site and centre. It is something we pride ourselves on, telling our story from creation to the present.

With well set out landscaped gardens and offering visitors a range
of activities, tours as well as information on Aboriginal cultural
heritage, local rock art sites and the Grampians National Park…there is lots to see, do and learn! The Centre provided a great deal of information on the native people of the Halls Gap area. A totally different experience to the indigenous culture you would see in Central and Northern Australia.
The hikes were not too bad but I feel the signs need to be more visible as we were going to go on a short walk and ended up going on the longest walk there because we didn't see any signs, so be alert and hopefully they have fixed this matter, as it was a very hot day and we weren't expecting this long walk.
